You can close the one side of top filter and it's air flow, company provides a cap for this outlets. I have a gold fish tank and I just have kept one side open which pushes water only in filter wool tub. Since gold fish doesn't like forceful water flow, I have setup the filter like this. Top filter gave me best results and I get top quality water for two months. I just do 30 % water change and glass cleaning to maintain nitrogen cycle and health of fishes. By the way good information 😊

Hello My shortbody flower horn is behaving different ,it is hodding in corners nd not taking food from 2 days. I added new parrot fish 2 days before,and one of them parrots is not more, all of the fishes was gasping at top water layer,i think water is not well enough so i chnage toatal water nd washes all the gravels ,stones .
