Awesome I watched your video, pulled it apart, found surface corrosion on the sensor board, gave it a clean with an alcohol pad and cotton bud, put it back together and it's all go again. Our machine is over 20 years old and we were looking at prices for a new one, decided it wouldn't hurt to try fixing the old one and started looking for how. I would have been lost as to where to look without this video of yours, thank you very much.👍

4 years later, similar style of F&P washing machine but different model, and your directions for the Rotor Sensor replacement were spot on! Got the part of eBay for $34 and replaced following your instructions. Washing machine now running error free again. Mate, you're a legend!

Hey man! Greetings from 10,500 miles away in Alton Bay, New Hampshire, USA. When you made this video you probably thought you might help someone fix their washer. I'll bet you didn't know you would be easing the suffering of a cancer patient, my beautiful wife, Sue. She cried when the washer broke because little things really upset people when they have a cancer diagnosis and also she was worried about the cost of buying a new washer. Thanks to you for taking the time to put this video out there. I just installed the part (had to wait a bit for it to get to NH from Australia) and the machine is running sweet as I write this! You didn't just help me fix the washer, you helped a family ease some of the stress and saddness in their life. THANK YOU so very much. Peace and good health to you and your family! Brian Quinn, Alton Bay, NH

2020 and this tip just saved me $300. i just had to buy a $27 circuit board off ebay, you probably dont need to buy the whole harness and circuit board. note: my sensors on the old circuit board looked perfectly fine, but the fault is definitely there. as soon as i installed the new one and did her back up, BINGO. no more error, works fine. cheers, mate

Thank you so much for this! For someone who would never normally attempt a washing machine fix, I was pretty stoked to firstly diagnose the problem and then (with my partner's help) actually fix it. Saved me a probably pretty large repair bill too (got the sensor circuit thingy online for around $40). Am happily listening to the hum of my washing machine right now. Cheers!

A BIG thank you to you for this video. I thought I was up for a new washing machine today, but eventually found your video tutorial. I had exactly the same issue, the sensor board had a corroded circuit track which I solder bridged with wire. Tested OK with multimeter, put the machine back together and I am now doing a load of washing as I type. Cheers!

Thanks Jesse for giving me the oil on how to fix my washing machine with the 130 error code. It worked and you saved me lots of money - I could have got a tech round to fix it and the call out fee would have been $120+ and the fix would have been at least $90 for the part and a few hundred for the time. I owe you a cold beer on a hot day; maybe two. As for the comments (see below) about your video re the "usual minded person" and their ability to "do the research" on Google to find the answer......I would like to point T astyboi towards any peer reviewed scientific journal. All biological peer reviewed experiments in journals have Materials and Methods sections that tell you what was used and how it was completed. Possibly T astyboi could start with Science or Nature Journals as they are the top journals to read - nuff said !!

Hey Jesse, thanks heaps mate, worked a treat. Great video, well explained. With almost 20 comments you have saved people easily over $2000 ($60 per part, say $40 labour x 20). And that is just counting those who actually left a comment. Good karma coming your way...

The correct connection for the red blue yellow stator wires are marked on the stator if you look closely. Also, if you have a multi meter you can check the RPS board it should be 220 ohms between the Hall effect outputs and the corressponding connector on the board, also the dc supply and ground should be easily traceable to each hall effect sensor from the same coonector. Thanks mate for taking the time to do this video it really has helped a lot of people. You look like you could possibly be a Kiwi, but I dont care I think you are a good bloke ;)

Thanks greatly. Amazingly my sensor is fine, instead my machine needs a new stator. The Darwin climate is very cruel to plastics. Rotating the tub felt clicky, matched the noise it made. Taking my stator out, lots of broken plastic pieces on top of it. Ordering a new stator now. Thanks again.

Thanks Jesse, you're a champion! I had a different FP model but the principle was the same. Found one pin a little corroded (but too not much) and that was the problem. I've had the machine for 15 years now so i thought the end had finally come; but you've given it another life. My wife was disappointed as she thought she was getting a new washing machine:):)🤣😀🤣🤣🤣 Many thanks!!

This video saved my washing machine and saved me a lot of money, thank you! Just a heads up for people looking for this part, you can get the circuit board without the plastic frame and it'll cost you about 40 NZD on ebay, you just have to take a little care in clipping the old one out and the new one in it's place. The whole new part shown in this video costs about 100 NZD but if the white plastic piece is not broken then its much cheaper to get the circuit board alone. Also, make sure the everything is screwed back in nice and secure to finish, the first time I tried there was a loud squeezing/rubbing sound from the rotary sensor/motor. After taking it off and putting back on properly, it worked sweet as a nut.

Thank you my kiwi bro! Same error code on a slightly different model (92206-A / WA65T60M) - the RPS is somewhat different (now potted in a rubbery compound to protect the circuit board), but the small sliver of exposed PCB for the connector had visible corrosion. Combination of careful scraping and isopropyl alcohol, reassembled everything, and it's now happily washing my towels.

Thank you very much for this informative video! This worked for me today on my Intuitive eco model: IW712 with fault code 130. Paid NZD$120 for the part as I needed it in a hurry. Turns out we had this same repair done 3 years ago - the part still looked brand new with no corrosion. So I guess they don't last long.

Worked perfectly! Had the same error code and symptoms as you, disassembled as shown - The position sensor I had was a fully enclosed circuit board in a plastic casing, however the connect part which had 4 pads had obvious corrosion between the pads. Cleaned that up with nail polish remover, reassembled and she's good to go!

Hey guys, If you have this error, it may not necessarily be the RPS... *Please only try this if you have some clues about electrical stuff, don't want to cause a short and burn yer house down* I had an error code 130, and tried replacing the RPS, motor controller board, and the wire harness which connects the two. However the motor just would not turn (cheers anyway though Jesse). Finally, I found that the issue was that one of the spade terminals wasn't making a good contact with its respective motor winding (see here for diagram: drive.google.com/file/d/13_0npBQ_QXHBAY3vQeqdfT08_nKJlBIH/view?usp=sharing). Once I cleaned that contact up a bit (scraped enamel off the wire a bit more, sanded the terminal a bit) it worked again like new. *Be very careful to ensure the washing machine is disconnected from the power when you're servicing the motor*

Thanks Jesse for a brilliant video. I found what the error code meant first via google, then watched your video to find out where the sensor was, and how to fix it. That saved me hours of time. I am a technical person, who can diagnose electrical equipment myself, but why waste the time when I have better things to do. I didnt have to watch all the video, others may choose to do so, that is the beauty of You Tube. So to T astyboi, do it yourself, and dont bother with You Tube (and negative comments) In my case, the black wire leading to the sensor had perished so much that it broke. Looks like built in deterioration that will eventually mean either a wiring loom or full machine replacement .

Thanks for positing this in good kiwi style, Jesse. This this the second time I've had to refer to it and both times this has been an invaluable reference. The first time a rat chewed through the wire cluster to the RPS and this time the RPS itself had turned up its toes as in your case - quite a pricey item, though.

Very good video, well done on the delicate sensor, they can break easily (the plastic surround). The rotor bolts into a alloy shaft about 1 cm long of alloy (It surrounds the shaft covered in plastic for about 10 cm), good to point out not to over tighten, alloy can be stripped. I use the rotor and stator like many for generators, another use for your machine if it brakes down again :)

Thanks for the vid. I have different model washer than you with the same basic setup. A couple things i did that i think helped mine; cleaned the magnets for the stator and motor, hit my contacts (that also looked extremely clean) for the position sensor with a few swipes of 1000 grit sandpaper, and hand tightened that big nut on the shaft accessible after the stator is removed. My model has a water proof dielectric gel on some of the sensor so the harness contacts were the only part accessible by water but nothing looked corroded. The magnets on the stator and motor looked like they had a few instances of touching so hopefully with the cleaning and the tightened nut there will be less wobble and less contact. That problem is now gone. This model hates being unplugged or disconnected from power for some reason though, so i have a new problem that i have had to fix before but your video helped with the important one lol. Thanks. -peace

Just a point you need to note. Sorry if you did and I didn't watch it. (raced through the video,) you need to know why there was water damage. Most common reason would be because of water seal and bearing failure as well. There shouldn't be any water getting under there.
