As a nose pillow user, this new mask looks good 👍 I like my nose mask - I have an older model but might look at upgrading to this one down the track. The challenge I find is my nose gets very dry and I need to remember to use oil to moisturise my nasal passage ways.

You know way before the P10, Resmed was developing a nasal mask that was pretty much the Nova Micro. I joined a small focus group in North Sydney maybe 16 years ago? where we had a preview and their prototype was almost identical to the Nova and was held together with masking tape. For some reason they must have felt it was too minimal, hence the P10's slightly bigger dimensions.

I use a P10 which is similar to the one on the video. I am a side sleeper and the P10 works great for me however I really like the way this one is adjustable. Definitely going to try it out.

​​@@TimoTruBluMy P10 head strap has a buckle so it can be adjusted. I just got it in 2024 so maybe they change something? the USA doesn't have this mask yet, and the representatives have been unsure through the entire summer when they were going to get it but said it was due to regulation testing. They only just released the pillow version of Solo Nasal was released in the US (Sept 2024) . So it might be another month or so before I can try The micro. One of my first masks was the avora nasal cushion, but it's terrible for side. Sleeping. Leaked like crazy so I had moved to Bleep with halos . But after a couple months and also getting a cold, I didn't want to waste The halos and accidentally ran out at one time and the supplier was out so started looking at alternatives that wouldn't require the prep of the face as much as the bleep required. The benefit of bleep is no face marks or headgear to worry about. I wasn't going to try the solo nasal pillow because the redesign of the headgear didn't replace the hard edged nasal cushion so it would just end up being the same issue as the evora. I just had my medical supplier. Get me Resmed P10. So far it's holding up fairly well as far as side sleeping and It doesn't seem to leak as I do turn quite frequently through the night and my jaw drops back. On full face and cushion. I was getting too many leaks This looks so similar to the P10. I wonder what the advantages are with the F&P micro

@@TimoTruBlu I agree with Timo here. Either mask is good for side sleepers. This is smaller and was great for me as I'm a side sleeper as well.

@@Thatsmessedupman That’s funny 😁. But seriously, I like reading in bed to help me sleep, and it’s a plus to have the mask already on - usually, fiddling with the mask when I’m nice and drowsy snaps me out of it.

I understand what you're saying. However, you do know that the breathing pattern that ResMed starts marking from as soon as you turn it on and it will look very junky in the time that you're awake and you'll get mismarked most likely. I think many people would improve their scores. If they could fall asleep right away but looking at the flow rate on the Oscar software, that first half hour before I fall asleep is marking events that obviously I'm not having but it's misunderstanding. Anyway, I would mess up my glasses if I slept in them, especially because I'll turn to my side and my face is pressing the pillow. That would wake me up with glasses on and probably bend the nose pieces.

@@Thatsmessedupman I do take my glasses off to sleep. Thanks for your words of caution. I’m new to the details of cpap data monitoring, and am suddenly learning heaps. Currently I’m using an outdated Phillips A flex and was under the impression only my sleep Dr could evaluate data. But he’s very vague and doesn’t seem terribly interested in my condition. I plan to buy a Resmed soon as I’m now increasingly aware that I can gain accurate insights to my well being. I’ve discovered Nicko in Melbourne who is an inspiration.

Totally get it. If you put the mask on first and then glasses over the top, that is fine to use whilst winding down. then glasses off and lights out :)

Great question. Traditionally, all masks were direct frontal delivery as opposed to top of the head. I actually prefer this delivery. Here is a super helpful video that shows where machine placement should be and where to put the hose etc. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKXMm5V9hKyIZsU
