I loved these quotes! The Invictus poem is my favourite in tough times like now. Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

I have a spreadsheet that I call, The Investing Handbook. There is a tab in it that I call, nuggets. Originally Golden Nuggets . These nuggets of wisdom run ab 229 rows deep. Most quotes are from some guy named Ken. Some from Bogle, Templeton, Graham, Dreman, Peter Lynch, Buffet. My favorites are from the guy named Ken. "History tends to repeat itself...not necessarily the events themselves, but the human reactions to similar events." One more... "The real world is full of changing variables. Theory is not the real world." Last one..." Biggest risk to long term investing goals is... not being invested in stocks." -from S.G.N.K. some guy named Ken. This tab is full of grounding nuggets. The best ones are highlighted in an orange color (10). Ken has 7 of those. Ben Graham has one. The other 2.. I am not sure, but probabilities lean to Ken as the author.

Ken is able to filter out so much market noise that some react to the wrong way, at the wrong time. His ability to choose words, concepts, and can allow you to visualize clearly what he is thinking. Ken has a gift, knows it and shares it to help others. True Legend.

Thank you very much...i have your father's 15 points in part of my checlist whenever i plan to buy or sell stocks..i agree with your point, grab the opportunity when other fear..But, we also have to train ourself, when bull market, people talk abt stocks, value investors shld keep alert, and dont express our opposite view to those who enjoy day trading or speculate.why? because they dont like it...my friends hate to hear my warning 1 year ago..

He's repeating the old saying : don't sell when the market is down. That's all. While it works in US, it's a terrible idea if you invest in places like Japan and Hong Kong.
