I walked the new gulf shores pier a few days ago, absolutely beautiful. Most people were fishing pompano rigs catching lady fish and blues. Vietnamese were using illegal size Spanish mackerel for bait. I saw the signs for no shark fishing whatever, just surprised nobody had king rigs . Perdido pass was the same. This time of year big shiny lure

Are there certain spots in Alabama where it’s legal to shark fish on the beach? We go to florida a couple times a year to do it. Just curious bc I’ve heard you can’t do it in Alabama.
@chris60543 ай бұрын
Why not just call up Game & Fish and ask them..? But, I don't see absolutely anything saying you can't shark fish from the beach in Alabama. I do see that you cannot chum, cannot throw pieces of bait into the water as chum, cannot bloodbait (ie synthetic liquid attractants). But, if you can fish for reds from the beach with a cut piece of bait....what stops you from shark fishing? You just cannot throw extra (chum) into the water.
@Braxton420M3 ай бұрын
@@chris6054 that’s kinda my thoughts as well. I just asked because I’m in a land based shark fishing FB group and I see them talk about it every now and then. I’d definitely call before I tried it, just figured he was from the area and would probably know. I know Florida has a free course everyone must take before doing it just to teach you the ins and outs. Also I’m talking 50w or 80w from the beach. Be hard to explain that as fishing for reds I’d imagine

Hey bro, all in all, how did the old Fish Gum/Bites hold up? I've got a lot of that stuff and it's probably around 2 years old at the most. It doesn't look bad through the package, and the consistency seems to be the same, but I haven't really smelled it. Just wondering if you think that it could still work or not? Thanks for the video. GOD BLESS!

That stuff will go bad unless you store in frig. If it smells like dirt, it's bad. Ask me how I know $$$$$........
@chris60543 ай бұрын
Yeahhhh, I just threw out like 6 packs from the tackle bag. It gets kept outside normally, and after a year now they look and smell like 💩. If I buy any more packs, they'll be staying in a fridge or atleast in AC.

Why, do you purposely catch sharks just to let them go? You are stressing out the creature for no reason. At least the other fish are food and good to eat, but the sharks are not eaten by you ever so why bother them. There is a purpose for them which is why God placed them there. I don't agree with the shark fishing rig and I love fishing. Should you catch one by accident then we have to deal with them, but I wish you would stop purposely trying to catch them with the so called "Shark Rig"

Surf fishing is fun as heck.. i did 113 days in a row last winter on padre island and ya never know what will swim in. Also i do long distance casting so i average around 750 to 800 ft out and catch alot of 3 to 7 ft sharks almost daily. Shark steaks and shark balls are great to eat. Bleed that shark out as soon as it hits the beach and you have amazing meat to eat. This winter im going for 200 days straight living off the beach as a challenge to survive.
