20 years ago I was a teenager going through several rough patches, mostly due to problems at school (bullies and the like). Every day I would come home and play FF8 (and eventually 9 then 10, just like my whole generation 🤣), and waiting for the moment every day, tied in with my happy home (great parents, I was lucky), got me through a real tough time at school. Now, I am in my thirties, I have gone back to education and am currently trawling through my second year of an Astrophysics integrated masters degree, and it's real hard (I also have two kids, so you bet I'm going gray early). But what does my brain do to help me get through it? Final Fantasy music on, continuously in the background while I study and work. This channel is an absolute gem. Thank you ❤.

I used to remember playing the game and think wow that's a real chill song. Now as I got older, I'm not alone in my thinking. Sucks getting older but it's fun to look back. All part of life if you guys have kids take a interest in their games cuz when they get older they be just like us.

That's great advice. I have fond memories of playing video games with my mother and father as a 3 year old. My wife and I play Roblox with the kids all the time now and Mario kart or whatever it is they're interested in, it's one of the cool bonding habits we've developed with them and I'm sure it'll pay off for them in the long run... At least I sure pray it does 🤣

When I was a high school teen playing this game, the music alone made me feel nostalgic for the "good old days" when I was 7 - 10 years old. When I was a recently-graduated adult driving to work with this playing in my wireless earphones, the music made me feel nostalgic for the "good old days" from the time I was in high school up until I graduated from university. Now, as I listen to this in my 30s... my mind goes back to the same period. Ahhh how time flies...

Say what you will about FFVIII's problems, as seemingly most fans think it has many, but the soundtrack is among the best in the entire franchise, if not the. Only about ten minutes in so far and I can't wait for my personal favorite VG track of all time, Ami, to come up.

I don't know that it's the best ST, but the best pieces from it are incredible. I'd put up FFVIII's best ten against any other game: Fisherman's Horizon (duh) Blue Fields (I don't like the arrangement in-game, but it's a phenomenal piece) Julia Fragments of Memories The Castle Silence and Motion (again, the in-game arrangement isn't great) Slide Show Part 2 Dance With The Balamb-Fish Liberi Fatali Under Her Control

@@FinalFantasyChill yea for sure. I just started checking out some of your other work, which are also my fav sound tracks and games. Zelda and donkey kong. I'm sure you have more, but those are the ones I started with. That sung epona song was absoutly crazy lol. But ff8, and even people in the ff community wont really say this. If you liked ff8 above others, thats probably because of the story, and ff8 is the love story. Lot of love in those tracks. And that Ada wong, eyes on your song. I hear bits of that song in alot of other music. It's kind of embedded in stuff ranging from disney to elvis presley lol. FF8 might not have been the pioneers of that, and perhaps it's just special to me because its my child hood fav game. But that I try to sing myself, sometimes, some parts of these tracks just kind of find their way into more mainstream stuff.

I avoided this game for so long because I've heard a lot of mixed things about it, Often seen people say it's one of the worst in the series, But then I'd see others swear it's one of the best. Finally started my own playthrough of FF8 a few weeks ago and as someone who loved both 7 & 9, I'ma be real, I think 8 holds up to both pretty damn well, Other than the junction system which ill admit i still don't fully get, I really don't see how someone could play 8 and say it's not worth it. The atmosphere alone makes it worth playing if your a sucker for that sort of thing like me, The backgrounds are gorgeous and the OST is seriously one of the best in the series. The characters aren't anything too special but I actually think Squall is a great main character, One of the most relatable characters in the series for me, And the story was shockingly engaging, Especially after hearing so many dog on it over the years, Overall I think it's a beautiful game, And for as weird and unique as it is, I still think it's one of the most underrated JRPGs I've played.
