To anybody reading the nonsense comments about how dangerous Fishermead is…ignore. Complete garbage, I spend time there often and have never felt threatened at any time: Visiting friends, using the co-op, walking home from the city centre at night. I’ve lived in MK6 for decades now, and while it’s undeniably rough and ready, it’s not a bad place at all.

Of course… MKCC will give you a free house if you’re from another country but happily have high numbers of homeless people who were born here.

MKDC not MKCC. Development Corperation.

I lived on Fishermead and watched the city Centre being built from my bedroom window. It was one of the three story. Loved it. However, there was a few problems: 1 the plastic board on the front. It soon looked tatty. 2 the car port... very Canadian, however, it too looked very tatty. 3 the front room floor dipped in the middle. this was corrected. 4 the windows were easy to open from the outside. This was such a pitty as they were wonderful.

what this doesn't tell you is since the 2000s the crime rate is really high with chances of being stabbed or robbed just for walking through the area, most of the houses are in need of Grand refurbishment and theres a lack of council care in most areas with rubbish all over the place, youth gangs and drug dealers

You are talking nonsense, Fishermead is no more or less dangerous than any other estate. Hiding your real agenda perhaps?

If you walk through there you risk getting stabbed and/or shot😮

Rubbish. I walk through there regularly & while I think it looks scruffy (as do many inner city areas anywhere), I have never seen any trouble because I have never gone out of my way to try & find it. I have never smelt the whiff of cannabis either.

That looks like some kind of camp.... Eastern Europe comes to mind or an army barracks .... everything in straight lines. No curves... no 'village' green centre with amenities... no playgrounds, swimming pools, shops, reliable buses, doctors surgeries, creches.. just blocks of housing..so spaced out that community must be difficult. It is filmed on a beautiful day in Summer and will never look better than that. I imagine you have to have a car to do anything.... and if you don't... what? Poor people living there. Nothing organic about it. I feel sorry for the people just dumped in a camp. I doubt any of the self satisfied 'planners' live there

shops are close..bus service is good, the redways link everything up, so walking, cycling is very easy, doctors surgery on every other estate, hospital is close..milton keynes has tons of open green parks..milton keynes was designed on a grid system, like some american places,

I would not claim it is one of the city's prettier estates but it is the closest one to the city centre, so combines the advantages & drawbacks which you would normally find with inner city residential areas. The city's main shopping centre is a 10 minute walk. The city's biggest park is 15 minutes. In order to get to either of these, you have to walk past a multiplex containing shops, pubs, take-aways, a cinema, ski slope & even a sky diving simulator. What makes you think there are no buses? They run around the outside of the estate. There is also a vast network of shared pathways around the city & e-scooters are the latest, convenient way to get around these. If you've ever heard the term "15 minute city" (which some try to push as a good thing), MK is the only city in the UK which qualifies. A car certainly helps to get around quickly, but the city's railway station is a 25 minute walk from here (or 10 minute e-scooter ride) from where you can catch a train to London, Birmingham, Manchester, N Wales, Liverpool, Scotland.
