It’s a beautiful piece of work! I love walnut, it’s easy to work and it turns out great. I agree with your original inscription choice (it’s funny but not really something applicable in a church setting). I once didn’t check my fly and halfway through the service my wife pointed it out. There’s no graceful way to fix that problem in that setting. I turned around and made the necessary adjustment, and then apologized profusely. That really didn’t help;my wife still reminds me periodically. That keeps me humble. Anyway, thanks for the video and outtakes. I’m not the only one to have mishaps happen.

Literally (a word I almost never use) every Baptist church I have ever attended could use more than one of these, to replace the multiple units that are legit (another word I never use) falling apart at every joint. Haven't seen a solid one in a classroom at a Baptist church yet, and I've been looking for pretty much my entire life. I'm 52. At some point, I'll start trying to build some and sneaking them in. They won't look as good as Drew's, but I'm hoping for an A for effort. Great job as always, Drew.

Great project. 45 degree mitered corners with wider boards are challenging. The saw or miter sled being off as little as a tenth of a degree maps itself around the frame creating new vocabulary on the last joint. Those digital gauges (I have one) are handy, but only as reliable as the internal electronics. Nice work.

Hi, Drew. Beautiful project you made and you make the building process very entertaining! You are great! Two tips for you--1. Trash that band clamp!! Those things are junk; upgrade to the Bessey. 2: Avoid those cross-grain glue-ups; this project had a lot of them. If you're going to wrap a panel with wood trim, then it's best to make the panel from veneer or plywood, and not solid wood. Always remember that wood needs room to expand/contract to avoid splitting or joint failure. Wrapping the ends with glued-on moldings doesn't allow any movement in the wood. Even the Almighty can't prevent wood movement! Love your videos!

What a beautiful piece Drew, it looked like it had always been there. Great job, so lovely that you resisted temptation to borrow your neighbours walnut too. 😅👍👏 Oh and I almost forgot to say how much I admired the trick to fill the little gap in the joint. I've seen people use shavings to fill a gap but your idea of just running a sander over the glue was so much more effective and natural looking. 👏

@FishersShop True story! That pulpit is beautiful!! Besides, I enjoy listening to your voice with those snarky, dry, remarks that you toss into the mix. There are just some days when one needs those, like today. Why? I blew out a brake line while being 1,000 miles from home. I had it dropped off at the shop, and they said a wheel bearing is in URGENT need of replacement! I will not even mention the price they quoted. The great news is that my son works on that specific brand of vehicle! So, he is now bringing his trailer to put my truck on it, rescuing his ever-grateful mother!
