Fishfinder Re-Wire on a Kayak

How to re-wire a fish finder on your kayak. This is not the best way to do it or the only way, but this is how I do it. Hope it's helpfull!

What is the little black box thing? Will it come with a fish finder? I'm thinking about buying one for kayak and I have zero clue how to hook it up to a battery

What if you dont put a fuse in it? If you do recommend a fuse, is it a 10amp fuse?

eyeguyeyeguy1 my 5x uses a 3amp fuse

You can do it without a fuse but if something goes wrong then the whole system gets fried.

I'm doing the same set up on my kayak except using a flat wire harness to make it portable. Can the fuse wire butt up and combine with the harness for positive and negative ?

Could I say buy a 5v little battery and hook up a fish finder?

LOL that little 12v 5ah battery is NOT going to "fry" your depth finder... 12v deep cycle starter battery yeah maybe...
