Would be cool but would require lots of maintenance and constant checking of the salinity, especially as much as it rains in Florida. With enough rain you could kill all the fish, so it would require a full size cover for sure like how Fish Guy Jack does it. Most people don't have much success with an outdoor saltwater pond. Personally if he's going to turn it into a pond for me it would have to be with fish I could swim with especially since he already has one salterwater pond in the garage. If he didn't have one then sure perhaps go and stock eels, sharks, etc, but since he already has a saltwater pond and mini pond, I would be able to want to use the pool as what it was designed for especially being in hot Florida.

Be very careful turning a swimming pool into a pond and putting fish in. Concrete is very porous and has 100% soaked up probably quite a bit of chlorine and when you put the other water in it will leach out into the water slowly. I built swimming pools for many years. There might be some kind of ceiling that you could roll on that could keep the leaching from happening but I'm not sure. Just letting you know from one fish guy to another

Fish grow based on the size of there environment. So if the emperor snapper isn’t growing and you’re feeding him a lot. That means he needs to go into the big pond. And he’s aggressive enough that I think he’ll be fine at that size. And he should have an immediate growth spurt anyway.

When I was 12 years old to around 15, my buddy had a pool in his backyard that his dad just gave up on. It was an unground and decently big. His dad would drop us off at the Doctors Lake boat ramp with the boat and we would fish all day. It was fed by the St. John’s River, so you could catch everything from bream to largemouth to stingrays to sheepshead and everything else. Any bass, catfish (freshwater), or bream / bluegill we would catch, we would stock most of them in his pool. That way, on days we were bored and couldn’t get to the lake or any other ponds, we would just fish in his backyard 😂. We had a big in ground pool, but my family kept up with ours. So I couldn’t do that at my house

Take a 2 inch PVC pipe and cut a few inches longer than your rod, glue a cap on one end don't glue the other one just push it on. Easy cheap rod holder. Just have to take the reel on and off. ( my dad's solution so he could always have a rod ready to fish in his work truck)
