Those by parrot fish seem to be unhappy and stressed in that little pond. I don’t know if you have said it was temporary, but they need more space. Needle fish as well.

Hey! On sand fleas. they are night active (during the darker hours) and they live on organic matter (seaweeds etc). They are not insects as many think and they do not bite! they are closely related to crabs etc. On another note there are people that eat them and from what i gather they are pretty tasty!. They’re sand crabs. Well that what we call them in NJ. They can be pretty big. I always grab them when playing w my nieces and nephews. Yep I’m that aunt! It’s not a sand flea! It’s a sand crab.
