Ok, just a suggestion but you might want to put sponges or something over the filter intake. Since it’s an over the back filter it is going to end up being too tempting for your new guy there to stay out of. Remember if one of his tentacles can squeeze out chances are he can squeeze out the rest of him.

There is not enough gas exchange with it all taped off this is usually mitigated in a setup with a sump and protein skimmer… I’d suggest looking into a better filtration option. Your going to run into chronically low ph. And the sample taken to the fish store won’t be accurate on ph bc the vial will be sloshing round making gas exchange.

OCTO. Name him Octo. The hang-on filter for the octopus may not be idle. It may climb up through the waterfall ìnflow slot. Maybe great to upgrade or add filters into all your tanks, dont worry about over-filtration.

You should put something in between so he cannot see the other aquarium because if he can see it he will keep trying to escape to go into the other aquarium, it's what they do. Corvallis 12g did a video about his on his channel and his kept trying to get to the other aquariums until he moved the whole aquarium so it could not see any other tanks and then it was good

Love your videos man and hate to be that guy, but octopus need a ton of enrichment and safe places to hide so they don’t get stressed out. I would recommend adding some of your established live rock that you have from other tanks. This will help since it’s a newly cycled tank and also give him some more places to hide. Best of luck!

You should add a barramundi to your freshwater. i have one it its so cool. they start off really small but it is epic to watch them grow. after he gets to big for the tank he would be perfect for the freshwater pond. ps your vids are amazing
