Bled, chilled , kahawai also makes really nice raw fish, spring onions, capsicum, lebanese cucumber, grated carrot, coconut cream, very underated, but very delicious.

Over here in South Oz we call those juvenile Kahawai salmon trout and as you probably know the adults Australian Salmon. We've been getting plenty of winter days like you in this clip, in fact I can't remember such clear, blue sunny days this time of year

Clay, gotta say been watching the channel since day dot and i've noticed you seem a lot more involved/happier doing the snap blogs then the ones with heavy editing. The quality is the same if not better the way it flows on youtube. So I say stuff it, keep doing them, enjoy life/family/hunting and just do the mobile thing mate!

Awesome clip clay. Looked like a mint day out on the ocean! I grew up just down the road from Richard's Temuka, just out country of Geraldine but live up Mot now. Totally agree with you mate kahawai is so underrated, beautiful big meaty fish, don't know why people turn there nose up at it! Think your right we kiwis in general can be a bit like sheep and just go with what the other bloke says to much. I haven't tried kahawai as sashimi yet but will give it a go, thanks for the tip 👍👌. Kahawai are my favorite eating fish, I'm not fussed on snapper and most of the popular species due to i find the taste bland and you have to do so much with them. I like fish that you can do nothing to and cook it and it tastes bloody good 👌👌

Fair Question Nitrosavy which is not a straight forward easy one to answer. I worked as a singer/live entertainer in Europe until 2005. I came home and got into my hunting and one day I was running down the hill to a pig bailed up and I slipped and tore my roto-cuff. That was the end of my live music career. My right shoulder was fucked. I could not long strum or play guitar so I tried making youtube videos to use the channel to sell my recorded music. I started to go really well and in 2016 Field Sports Britain voted my channel the best hunting channel in their open section world wide. Things got better and I started making good money from advertising and sponsorship. Then youtube changed all the rules. Any videos with guns or animals being hunted got demonetized or flagged. My videos views dropped 500% and I wet from 1200 subscribers a month to 200. 3 years ago the channel ran at a $10,500 lost for the year and I made a video saying I could no longer do it. A bunch of good bastards got together and a Patreon account was made where I could post hunting videos and private ones for my loyal supporters. Today my full-time income comes from Patreon, music sales and a little bit of advertising on youtube. These Snap-Vlogs are only 2 and half weeks old and just an experiment. I still post exclusive videos of Patreon that otherwise would get flagged on public youtube. Those are mostly hunting videos. My weekends are mostly spent taking you men out that do not have the resources to go hunting themselves.

Kahwai is my most favorite fish too, second is the old sea perch. Honestly I think blue cod is crap and is way too overrated.
