Me and the wife were fishing the WON Bass pro ams back in 2000. The first tourney was on don pedro and the first day a guy throwing a swimbait caught 31plus lbs for 4 fish and the biggest went a little over 11lbs and that won him the tournament. So you are correct in that the lake has some giants in it. Nice vid and hope you did well in the tourney. Tight Lines!

Neat. I was thinking it would be a great comparison down the road to compare drop shot vs split shot. It would be interesting because I recall a time when you could not win a bass tournament in the tough summer months (SoCal) if you didn’t split shot small worms. Seeing how drop shot has taken over, it would be a good side by side comparison. Just a thought if and when you run into a wide open bite like the one you had. It’s interesting to see how various techniques loose favor with fishermen and eventually “come back”. Great video and good luck on the tournament!!!

Greg, thank you, very much, for telling your viewers, where you fish. So many act like they are protecting honey holes, and won't even say what river, or lake. By the way, another great vid...

Im sure you know this already but it's worth mentioning. I was having the same trouble filming during the summer. Turns out it was my memory cards. GoPro is very particular about which model (not just brand) of card you use. Check the website for a compatibility list. Worth a shot
@leepechin27644 жыл бұрын
Greg, I notice you enjoy the chopper and popper, I'm a top water enthusiast and surprised I haven't seen you use a walking top water! Strong suggestion to try a lucky craft sammy, heddon spook or spook jr. or something similar! The escaping baitfish cadence is different than what a popper does and I find can be a great trigger for a topwater bite!!
@swimschool41954 жыл бұрын
i went out there last August. went to that same area on the south shore. fish were not munching. got one on the c-rig in about 15-20 feet of water at the mouth of that finger that extends almost to the road. left at 11:00am too, so friggin hot.

Im sure alot can change before tournament day so good luck.. I'm always amazed at the fish you catch. You just need to go out and rock that top water like it's going out of style.. thanks again greg for the content.. Also would be interested in the hero 7 if your upgrading..

Hey Greg, I had the same issue with my Hero 7 Black and I resolved it by removing the battery when I'm filming and have the GoPro plugged into a external power source like my boat battery or an small portable power pack. I notice you usually have the camera plugged in to something so give that a try. When the GoPro is filming while also trying to recharge the battery, it generates a lot of heat and I think that's what causes it to turn off. Hope this fixes your problem, or atleast improves it. It did for me, no issues since.
@DigitaLIon7814 жыл бұрын
That's the ticket. Internal battery removed, and powered by external battery. I also set the unit to not power off and just stay on.

Hello Greg, now you are in my neck of the woods. That lake is a great one. Please watch out for snakes, they do swim on the water. Snake is a diamond back rattler and poison when they bite. Be safe. Please keep me posted on your tournaments so I can come out to see you.

Brotha that's my home lake. Pick up a walking bait and work it slow on points in the am. Then do your drop shot to get a little limit. Always works, my preferred color is arons morning dawn. They love pink and white there. Once u have a limit drag a 10inch worm in 40ft of water for the bigger fish. You will need atleast a 22 inch kicker to win there brotha. Plenty of 14-17 inch fish on drop shot

Dude the hero cameras were great, now I use the Dji action cam. Check it out they have a front screen for setting up shots and vlogging. Got a hero7 black last month and it’s always overheating, seems like when it hits 85 degrees out side it’s starts acting up. I also bought the hero 5 black on Amazon the e-commerce for 150$ no problem runs good all day the audio is a bit trashy but I can deal with that I’m just a weekend warrior. Makes me think about sending it back and getting another 5 back, but keep pushing out the good content brotha!

Hi Greg, I’m curios why/when you choose the popper over the choppo? Is one more finesse or is it just matching the hatch?

actually both lately, seems to be the bait excels when the water is calm and with this clear water the fish can see it from a mile away. long pauses have helped
