Excellent video!! I wish we had rivers like that one in Canada. Very few rivers hold that many muskies up here, you gotta fish the lakes. In the fall, if you have a heavy gizzard shad spawn, you'll get muskies up the river. But mainly they'll be around the mouth and a few km up. I'd love to learn your stocking program.

I once caught a loon whilst fishing smallmouth. Hooked a two pounder and the loon grabbed it under the water. Thought I may have a muskie til I got it to the boat. Fortunately, the loon didn't have any hooks in it, just kept hold of the bass the entire time. After a couple of minutes, it finally let go. Crazy day.

I also caught a seagull once. Lol. Pan fishing perch, reeling in a nice keeper and the gull flew down out of nowhere and grabbed it and flew off. It's so great when days come together like this, makes all the days we work out asses off for minimal results worth it. Some of your net jobs stressed me out a bit, if you leave a little more line out and lift your rod tip to bring the fish too you then you wont have to reach the net so far. Often times solo ill actually put the rod behind my head on my neck which keeps the fish from pulling the tip down and getting further away.

The walleye, also called the walleyed pike, yellow pike, yellow pikeperch or yellow pickerel, is a freshwater perciform fish native to most of Canada and to the Northern United States. It is a North American close relative of the European zander, also known as the pikeperch. Wikipedia

These were likely reaction strikes. That’s why you caught so many more than your buddy. IDK what he was using, but a glidebait is a reaction bait. (like a suspending JerkBait) A slow steady retrieve then pump the rod twice (or reel handle snaps) and pause. This will cause the bait to be cruising along then suddenly make two quick directional changes (“directional” is a real word) then shoot off to one side and stall. The evasive movement can trigger a follower to instinctively strike when otherwise they might just be looky-Lou’s.

14:00 lulz i seen him with his head barely poking out under your boat as he circled back while you were texting. i was watching the lure fully expecting to see a big bass or muskie just go full send and make you lose your phone in the water....because that's how evil they are...when you aren't trying, they just do the unexpected in my experience. can't tell you how many times they shade under the boat and just strike from right under the hull. it's like they use the shade to get a better look at the stuff on your line and don't make up their mind until they study it enough to decide it's not a trick and actually worth eating. had a 5# bass do this and a 15# northern pike try to eat the bass soon as the bass devoured my sucker on a circle back. wished i had that on video some epic wild predator competition and response sight you have to see to believe!
