Are there alligator gar in Jacksonville? I’d love to come down and fish Florida for my first time I just don’t know what baits (cut baits) and live baits are primary in the area and what fish are the norm when fishing inland or beach front
@VISUAL-LY Жыл бұрын
There are some around but they won’t mess with you. They’re more scared of us than anything. But if you want to use live bait for fishing inshore here, you’ll be good with live shrimp, mud minnows, or finger mullet. Cut mullet or cut ladyfish are good too

Hey I love the videos what size hook ,corks and ,weight you use
@VISUAL-LY Жыл бұрын
In most of my videos, I’m just using a jighead (weighted hook). Either 3/16oz or 1/4oz. That’s all you need fishing around here in the creeks for reds, trout, and flounder. If going for sheepshead, I don’t use anything more than a 1oz Carolina rig with a 1/0 or 2/0 size hook. As far as corks, just get the Cajun thunder, my favorite on the market.

Fished all over Jacksonville in the 80's and early 90's from the bank. The fishing was great back then compared to today. Today many of the best spots are blocked off now "we are all terrorists" and it's just too dangerous now.
@VISUAL-LY2 жыл бұрын
I did too back in the days.The water has definitely changed. Way less fish and way more polluted. But I hear ya, I def think they will eventually try to ban fishing. They want us to eat the farm-raised stuff that they inject full chemicals and poisons.
@BlastedKat2 жыл бұрын
@@VISUAL-LY I don't think you are far off. Back then a 10 lb sea trout didn't even turn a head. I've shown photos of trout 10 to 15 lbs from back then all caught off the bridges. People think they are from Texas. Lol whatever. Hell and that was when we still had gill nets in Florida. As far as I'm concerned, compared to then. The fishing has collapsed in Jacksonville.
