Great information, Nick. Just a heads up, rewatch the segment about the in-between moon phases. You make reference to a 'new moon', when I'm pretty sure you meant 'full moon' (around 8:10-8:845). Got me confused on the first watch, but I got what you were trying to convey on the second pass. Keep up the great vids!

Fantastic video. Encyclopedic. I'll have to put the material on paper to organize seasonal plans for fishing Pyramid Lake and Castaic Lake here in Southern California. I'm a complete novice, and value the wealth of knowledge you have. You should consider collaborating with a good writer and have your talent published. I'd purchase said book not only for recreational use, but for survival as well. Specifically to this video though, I'll be paying very close attention to the fall and winter advice you gave. I like how you suggest "slowing down" and being more patient due to the water temperature being so low. This should help me work on being a patient angler, practice being more accurate to the strike zone, and help me make better decisions on bait choice. Excellent video. Thank you.

Thanks Rey! I have yet to run into that writer ;) I have had some thoughts about doing some books like you suggested. I appreciate the comment, keep in touch!

Hello, I currently live in Indiana, which is known by its residents for how quickly the weather can change. I was fishing one day with a friend, day started with nice bites, but after about two hours (after daybreak) the weather started to flip. It started overcast, then was sunny. It repeated that pattern about 4x. What would you suggest doing in a situation like this? Should you just fish accroding to the current conditions, or would this affect the bass in a different way due to the weather flipping around?

***** and nick, do you know if the ponds in stockton are open to the public to fish, thinking about going to the one by brookside. It looks like there is open space to fish
@InformativeFisherman11 жыл бұрын
ChooseFreshAtSubway I'm normally in the boat around Mossdale but those flats hold lot's of bass, this time of year drag a jig or worm slowly. target around the rock and current breaks.
@InformativeFisherman11 жыл бұрын
ChooseFreshAtSubway Yeah you can fish there next to VIP pizza, it's a small area but fun to fish if you hit it at the right time!

Please help would be much appreciated! Sorry for the length, I wanted to provide as much information so if you answer it will be accurate and not an estimate.I recently got a St. Croix 7' heavy rod, fast action, SCII Graphite, 14-25 lb line, 3/8-1 1/2 oz lure. To accompany it I got a Cabela's Tournament ZX Casting Reel- 110/10 line capacity but when I got the actual product it said 130/10, gear ratio: 7.2:1, bearings: 8+1, weight: 6.1 oz (not sure if this is a factor I'm pretty sure it's not lol), line recovery(in)/turn: 28.5I want to use this for a musky set up. I was most likely going to get 40# braid with 10# diameter but what do you think I should get for my line? I have always used bass setups and if I use braid I will have to put backing on as well I'm not sure of what to get here. I have also never caught a musky, although I have attempted many times. The heaviest lure I have is one of those top water missile looking lures I think it weighs 1 1/4 oz, the heaviest lure I do get is probably going to be 1 1/2 oz but I'm just really stuck on what kind and # of line I should get so I'm telling you all this in case it factors in because you're obviously a better fisherman then me. Again your help would be MUCH appreciated.
