To be a little devil's advocate, it doesn't seem like he did it on purpose or to be mean. He may not have noticed you guys until he came off plane and was slowing down. By then it was honestly too late. He didn't continue to escalate after you said something and he moved through as quick as he could. Best not to let it get to you and move on else both of you look foolish.

I totally disagree. When you're driving a vessel it's your responsibility to see everything in your path. It's not like the kayaks were hiding behind a bush or tree. He saw them. He just didn't want to go around. Plain and simple narcissism.

Chad, I spent three years stationed in San Diego and in all my years have never experienced more jack wads than while fishing the San Diego lakes. Without even looking at you folks would pull up less than a couple boats lengths in front of you and just start fishing like you are not even there. This was a regular occurrence. Man, I sure was glad to finish that tour and get back to the South where folks still have some restraint and display courtesy to each other.

we've all had that problem. the last person that did that to me I followed them down the bank casting a swim jig because the fish were suspended in the clumps of hydrilla every time my jig hit this clump I would get a bite. then I would scream like Ike. I lost count I caught so many bass but I never saw the other guy catch one.

I understand your frustration. I got out on one of our local lakes a few years ago. I didn't know it was duck season and every single duck boat that passed me, never slowed down and they all waked me while I was in a 10 foot inflatable boat. One fisherman came by and I heard him tell his buddy, don't wake that guy up their fishing. They slowed way down and we talked a minute as they passed and I thanked them for the curtesy they showed. Don't know if all duck hunters are as rude as what we have in NE OK but I was not impressed.

Was on Leech Lake MN a few weeks ago and had a fishing boat troll in and spot lock right where I was casting my jig for 30mins straight catching walleye. Leaned over and told my brother on the next cast I'm putting it in his boat... Almost hit the dude in the forehead, I stopped the spool and pulled back just in time for it to stop and plop down just inches from his boat. Normally conversation would ensue, but his trolling motor scrolled 90deg and he scooted outta there. Have fished the Oconto where it's like bumper cars without problem, but some guys will act like they just don't want you to catch fish in situations like this.

I got to a spot to duck hunt on a public lake one time. There were some guys a good 200 yards away from us where we set up. They were kind of in the area first but we faced the open lake and they were fishing the bank. They eventually worked around and got within shotgun hitting distance of us. Cut a group of ducks off that were swimming in our direction just to get into a fork of the lake. We were livid. Not only did they cut off ducks, but they were stupid when it came to safety

I mostly fish walleye. And I troll for them. It's very common for someone to anchor right where I just caught one. Then they want to cast at your boat like it's their spot. Last year my brother was out. When a famous guide. With his own TV show did it too him. With a boat full of clients. Didn't stop my brother from catching his limit. How would that make you feel? Also realize that fish are not afraid of boats. The guy in front of you hopefully churned up some bugs that attract bluegill. And what eats bluegill?

Wow I just got settled in from an all day fishing day on my local lake. I was set up to cast into a treetop and 3 older guys came along in a pontoon boat parked right in the tree top and ran their motor trying to get turned and blew up the whole spot. Seems since he's been fishing the lake for 30 years and......... Since he was there early in the morning before me it somehow made it ok🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. I said "after 30 years you would think you would have learned some manners". Didn't bother to tell him I've been fishing this lake for over 50 years. Looked like maybe his son was driving a guy about 50 ish. Great way to bring up your kids to be respectful. Passed him later on and pulled in a 2.8# ER on a frog . No bad for northern Crawford county area this time of year. ... I feel your pain Chad. All we can do is present ourselves in a respectful manner to others and not be "THAT GUY"🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🇺🇲🇺🇲

It's getting pretty common to encounter people with no fishing etiquette. The other day I was fishing a stretch of bank to the left and to the right of me. With over 100 ft. of open bank and no one else around, 2 older guys decide to set up 10 feet beside me and throw out 2 poles each where I was fishing the rocky bank to the left where I previously caught a 3lber chasing herring. After I caught a couple 2lbers off a laydown, they pick up move to the laid down tree I was fishing to the right. Just this morning I went out to the same spot hoping for some solitude and a freakin boat of 2 troll up, completely cut me off and start fishing the spots I am. At that point I had nothing to cast at because the boat was in front of me about 15-20 ft, the guy in the back was fishing the rocks to my left and the guy in the front was fishing the laydown on the right. It's mind blowing

I hate boaters especially pleasure boaters... I was anchored on the james river fishing for catfish out of the channel out of the way, well hear comes a 30 foot yacht wide open I figure OK he sees me he'll roll off as he passes me... Nope threw a 4 foot wake at me. I cranked my anchor wizzard got my anchor up off the bottom as far as I could and just barley got the nose towards the wake had it got me broad side I would have went over along with about 3000 dollars in gear close enough to swim to shore but still. So as a multi species kayak angler I've grown to hate boaters they think it's funny to wake us out they don't think about our lives the money we spend to make these things fishing machines... I know this ain't all that much my graph by itself is a grand not to ammount for my rods tackle and all the other rigging. The most respectful boats on big rivers are tugboats. I've never had one not roll off the throttle as he passed unless I singled him to throttle it up and throw a wake. I kinda enjoy riding the wake but I'm also retarded😂 I also don't have hundreds of dollars of gear on board either.

Its crazy how ppl are today. Everytime i go fishing, someone shows up within 5 minutes and crowds me out everytime. I bought a spot on a lake for camping, but i was fishing it for like 12 hours. As soon as i get setup, here came 2 ppl and posted up on me. I told them that i bought this spot, and they argued with me about it. So i just let it be and moved on down. I ended up crushing the bass and catfish and they didnt get a bite. Lol

Hey Chad, thanks for your content, and looking forward to seeing more. Are you using the nucanoe unlimited in this video, and how do you like that kayak. I ask because I'm a large guy, 6'3 280, and have decided to go with the unlimited.

No, this is the BONAFIDE SS127. But I will be using the NuCanoe Unlimited for a series of videos in the very near future

It has gotten worse the last 3 years. Fishing etiquette is out the window. Especially when it comes to us kayakers and bass boats. By the way nice fish.

This kind of stuff and people who leave their trash all over are two of my biggest peeves. I usually pick up when I go to the lake and try to leave it looking better than it did when I came. So many times I'll go back the next morning, and there will already be a bunch of trash around from people who fished the night before - @$#%!!! Pick up after yourselves people. We have a beautiful planet, stop trashing it!

Too many selfish people like that these days. They’re so petrified of accountability too that they will use any excuse in the book paired with unnecessary aggression to act like they did nothing wrong. You’re right, common courtesy is not so common anymore.

I kayak fish and boat fish. He really wasn’t being that bad. You need to chill out IMO. He slowed down to zero wake for you, call him a clown or whatever, but you don’t own the water any more than he does.

I do the same. At the end of the day you dont own the water chad, some folks just dont know, but he did slow down for you and not cause you any wake. That is courtesy. I slow for Kayaks all the time as much as i could and i expect boaters to do the same when i am fishing. But you cant please everyone. Even slowing for kayaks respecting their fishing. They still throw their hands up like if u have no right to be there. Boaters can enjoy the recreation of boating & say the same thing, kayaks are in wake zones fishing slowing them down where they cant enjoy water sports. Like you say, just because youre fishing doesnt make it more important than his activity. Its a shared space at the end of the day. He did slow down to literally nothing for you. Couldve blew pass and around and flipped u for all he cared.

Chad, I mentioned to you before that now you’re in Huntsville I have some great backwater spots where boats can’t go to catch tanks. I messaged you on Instagram after you said let’s meet up. Let’s get it, brother!👊🏾

A little tip from up here in canada on how we deal with assh@!es like that...a slingshot with a bag of various sized marbles...works great on gel coat paint jobs...been using it for years...especially for those great wake board boats that think its funny to try to swamp you ...ive dinged a few $10 000 + dollar paint jobs and im proud of it...invited all of those meat heads to meet me on the dock for a "discussion"..no takers so far...THAT SAYS IT ALL... SO MY ADVICE...BUY THE SLINGSHOT...IT WORKS!!!! From my wet melted igloo on the mountain in alberta Canada 🇨🇦 D.
