Question about fishing a spinner bait, chatter bait and squarebills. I have 4 set ups I use for bass fishing. My question is what combo would be best for spinner bait and chatter baits and also crankbaits. When I fish if I’m bank fishing I limit myself to 2 rods one with a wavy rig or Texas rig and the other to mess around with moving baits. Which of these would be best for the moving baits all around? When I boat fish I tend to take all 4 with me and I try to use all them on different bank trips. All are fast action also. 6’6 medium spinning 6’6 medium heavy spinning 6’6 medium heavy bait casting 7’ medium baitcaster

All I've ever fished in Virginia was lake Fairfax. Caught some decent sized catfish but they were spawning and pretty sure they were just trying to get my bait out of the area when they hit, it was pretty fun. That was like probably maybe 45 years or so ago, so I'm showing my age! I had cousins that lived in Virginia when I lived in PA and we would visit each other at different times in the year, then come whenever I came to Virginia, I felt like I was going on some kind of vivid excursion in the wild! Now I'm a little older obviously. I lived in Fairfax county later on in life for about 3 years, there seemed to be a lot of unnatural man-made lakes in that area, but as far as fishing was considered, I never fished them. I remembered a couple of videos back you were fishing the Potomac, wish I would have known it was like that good! Keep doing what you're doing bro, I love the entertainment as well as the information! God bless!

When you get a decent sized fish like that you should introduce it back into the water slowly and guide it back and forth so that the water can get into its mouth and out the gills so it can breathe and revive it faster and better. Sometimes if you just throw them back in there like that they end up dying later because they're so pooped out by the time they get to you. You throw them back in the water and they can't catch their breath so to speak, and then sometimes they end up dying. So that's probably what could have happened there. That fish needed a little bit extra TLC before letting it go. That's what I got from it. I've said stuff to you in the past, you know I'm not a hater. Just keep doing what you're doing like I said in a previous comment, and God bless!

@@SpaceGhost- I've never really heard that. But I never claimed to be an expert on the subject. If that's the way it is, then it's something I have just learned from you. I've just seen it done on different channels as well as in person from other fellow fishermen. I would think that moving it back and forth would be more necessary if it took place in a body of water that wasn't moving as freely as a stream or river. I just don't like seeing people throwing the fish over their shoulders, dropping a fish 20 plus feet off of a pier, and other ways that just aren't natural releasing methods, to me, that's just not respecting fishing and nature in general.
