This time of year it's all about finding the right shell bar on the St. John's. All the locals have their honey holes the check on. Not many big fish up shallow until early spring

Great video!! Tough 2 days for ya.. you'll bounce back. I'm fishing a tournament next week at the big O. I've never been there before, but hopefully the two days I have to practice I'll find something. Of course nothing at the level you're fishing. But I like to see a Tampa boy doing what you're doing. Tight lines!

i use to fish St. John's River when i was stationed @ NAS Jacksonville, it flowed right through the base, excellent fishing on that river, i heard tell it was BRACKISH water, but the fish loved that area, never went home empty handed for sure.....................ray

If you catch a fish on the pre-tourney days, does that make it harder to catch that same fish two or three days later?

Yes they likely won’t bite again

I fished this tournament as a coangler. I noticed you missed several on the Texas rig, biting it in half stuff like that. I have never missed as many fish on a Texas rig as I did in this tournament. And I’m convinced there’s a population of mud fish 30/1 on the bass in crescent lake lol idk about the other parts of St. John but I saw too many mud fish in crescent lol

Ya I’m pretty sure those were all mud fish lol

This river is brutal. If you don't have sweet shit, stay away. The same guys, win every weekend. Literally period. Since Florida started killing this rivers weeds it has been a shit hole. . Literally PERIOD.

The St. John’s is definitely one of the tougher places I’ve fished in Florida

You mean the boater gets first dibs and the co angler may not have a shot at everything the boater fishes?!?! Crazy.... Don't watch a bed fishing tournament.
@ghosthunter1523 жыл бұрын
Ole Chet sometimes that just happens where you are fishing. Some do it, don’t get me wrong. Co’s should focus more on the water they can fish and less about the boater purposefully boating.

I'm sorry you had a poor experience watching this video, we will discuss with our team about how we can improve. In the meantime if that's a concern for you please sign up as a boater in the next tournament or check out one of the several Central Florida guide services that will gladly take you out and let you cast to all the juice first
