young rookies, time to up your game on your stewardship of short fish. the fine-mesh net is a good start, but use it more often. do not handle shorts which are to be thrown back, by their gills. don't let shorts beat themselves up on the deck. you guys are young and have a vested interest in helping the halibut population survive.
