Sick as always! Have you ever tried dartind/wind technique for flatties? i think it would be a lethal strategy for them, especially since its not used so heavily yet ;) produces some crazy results for me personally

Hey mate ive juat found your videos and im really enjoying them, I have gotten back into fishing after not doing it for ages and I'm loving it. I had no idea we had places like this in Victoria, obviously you arent gonna tell everyone exactly where you catch all your fish but what area is it in like east cost vic lakes entrance out that way ?

I am really glad you enjoy the videos!! Thank you :)) That's awesome man, fishing is such a great hobby to have! There is definitely some amazing places to chase big flathead in Victoria, but generally the further north you go, the better it will be. I do fish Lakes Entrance sometimes, but the system is very very tough, obviously being a popular tourist spot there's a lot of boat traffic and fisherman everywhere so you need to venture deep into the system to find uncompetitive areas. Places like Lake Tyers which is only a 5 minute drive from Lakes Entrance is one of my favourite systems, I almost always get big flatties when I fish the sand flats in the lower reaches of the system. Other than that, if you're new to this style of fishing and want to somewhat maximise your chances of catching a giant, then I recommend places like Mallacoota or even Wonboyn slightly into NSW or places like Merimbula! I will never specify exact spots because I feel like that takes the fun out of it for other people, for fish like flathead, half the fun in researching areas and looking at them on Google Maps and then going and testing them out! On top of that, most sand flats that hold big flathead only have a few on it so if everyone traveled and fished specific flats then it would potentially ruin spots for local fisherman which I will always do my best to avoid with my platform. I never understand KZbinrs that directly specify fishing spots just because of the negative impact it can have for the locals. But as a general rule of thumb, you can start catching big flathead from Gippsland Lakes upwards with the HOT SPOT being mid NSW, I have never got one above 90 in Victoria, but they are somewhat in abundance in NSW! Maybe in April/May I can head up north a bit to chase some Mulloway before the weather gets too cold! 🤙
