nearby will have fishes but if you cast further, you expand your search ground.

@@akidmohammed7291 if you want to use crankbaits, can try a baitcaster with slow gear ratio for cranking power. rod medium heavy or heavy action rods. If you intend to jig, try something long, like 9ft rod with 5k spinning reel. HG reel will be good for cranking fishes out from the deep before your line touches the reef. rod action maybe medium heavy or heavy as well

Longer will be better I guess. Shorter rod can play lure around here but burst rate high if playing far out.
