I think that fish caught at 11:40 in the segment was checking out Bens bait at bottom as he was fixing his line and as soon as he started to reel up the slack Daves bait went flying by and the muskie smashed it.

I'm surprised a group like muskies inc doesn't handle fish better. No reason to be lifting fish vertically by the gill plates anymore. We all know better now

how do you plan on getting it out of the net? for short periods of time it is ok.. if they were sitting there weighing the fish or taking a bunch of pictures of the fish holding it vertical I would agree with you, but the short amount of time they had that fish vertical will not harm it.

Based on this comment I can see you've yet to catch a muskie or at least fish with someone who knows how to. When a muskie hits, you've got to set the hook hard to insure a good hook up and any good muskie angler knows that. Once you're hooked up, you use free spool and control the tension with your thumb to adjust on the fly while fighting the fish. Have a nice day you idiot.
