Fishing for Oscar cichlids in the Florida Everglades

Video I made of Oscar cichlids I recently caught in the Florida Everglades. I used cut bait, jerkbaits, and trout magnet jigs to catch these fish. Oscar are native to Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, French Guiana, Ecuador, and other South American countries. Many people keep Oscar as aquarium pets since they are beautiful fish with an interesting personality.

SK's CRAPPIE Catchn Adventures Thank you for watching! The Everglades has an extremely healthy population of fish so it is a great place to go fishing. All the Oscar I caught in this video were not spawning. They spawn later in the year when the water is warmer. Will post more Everglades fishing videos later this month.

Robert Palma Thank you for watching! I am using 6 pound test line with the trout magnet jigs and 30 pound test braid for the cut bait. I will post more Everglades fishing videos later next month.

Peeling Line Thank you for watching! Oscar are one of my favorite fish to catch in the Everglades since they fight hard for their size, are beautiful, and you can catch a lot of them. I have eaten them before, they are one of the few freshwater fish I like to eat. They taste better than crappie, walleye, and many other good tasting freshwater fish. I am editing more Everglades videos and will post more of them in the next couple of weeks.
