Whenever I fish the broken bottom in close I either get butterfish or blowfish, never king George. They seem quite elusive to find to ole king George

I've noticed that if the butter fish and blowies are in an area, the kGs are in another area away from them, strange world down there.

What size rod do you use for squid? And do you use an egi rod? I just bought a new reel for squiding and I’m struggling to find a rod to match it to use off my boat! Any advice and recommendations would be really lovely mate

Sorry for late reply mate..I've got an eggi rod basic model on board with a basic 2500 reel, however lately been using an old bream outfit and even a different bait caster rod with a 4000 reel. Not too fussed on the rods and reels along as its light whippy and not too big on the boat

I’m out in the sound every 2nd day or so after work or during if the boys are on the job and I don’t need to be there 😂 perks of running a business.
