Yes this spot holds Big snapper but the big ones only come in close during the winter months. Spot lock is KEY in this area and I would suggest going over the area a few times to see where the fish are hanging. Just keep in mind there will always be boats drift fishing the area.
We used cigar minnows and squid on this trip and did better with squid, but it could go either way. Also if you go use a CIRCLE HOOK and YOU HAVE TO HAVE A FISH VENTING TOOL.
