I commented to you before to fish grassy lake, reason for that is i fished it in the 2000s . I am 45 years old and lost most of my mobility to a rare disease and could not make that portage. It is such an i interesting lake 1/2 mile or more paddle in really shallow water and reeds, sincerely Ed

Don’t stop fishing for pike. Such a fun fish to catch people just don’t get it
@Show_T1meYTАй бұрын
It's not that they're not fun to catch, it's just that pike are really easily caught with a simple spinnerbait that has a bunch of advantages to it but sunfish are also most commonly and easily caught with bait, which is difficult to bring on a kayak. Sunfish are fun but pike are just really simple and fun as well
@doranritzman30Ай бұрын
I prefer musky but pike is a close 2nd slowly getting away from largemouth
@Show_T1meYTАй бұрын
@@doranritzman30 yes, I enjoy fishing for musky as well, it's just they aren't that common and super rare. I know it's possible but just imagine getting a big one on in a kayak. With the lakes he's fishing he'd be on the other side in an instant
@Crustaceanking50Ай бұрын
What do you mean it’s one of the most targeted fish😂
@Show_T1meYTАй бұрын
@@Crustaceanking50 yeah, it's highly targeted, but they can be quite difficult to hook into, let alone net one. Plus, most of the lakes he fishes are super shallow, meaning musky won't inhabit them

I like your series so I subscribed - keep catching pike and exploring dude never know what you’ll catch - I do the same with small lakes up here in northern Ontario

In MN, much depends on the depth of the lake and if there is a river or creek running through it. It seems that lakes with depths of 20 ft or more can usually survive winter kills. A creek or river running through it provides fresh water and an avenue for fish to pass through. The size of crappie in some of these small lakes can be amazing.

They don’t realize what we have to play with up in MN! I fish the river most times and I had the spinnerbait killing it till my knot failed and I sent her into the abyss. Keep up the vids man, I’m about to hunt for this bad boy myself!

If you take 10-15 minutes to watch a couple pike cleaning videos you will eat a lot of fish for the rest of your life. I've been catching, cleaning and eating them for over 40 years now. It wasn't as easy to learn how to clean them back when i started. No Internet.
