Last year we had a special visit here in the Bazaruto Archipelago, when Bruno Faria, and avid fisherman and adventure-seeker joined us for 10 days of fishing, tagging, and sample collection in our tagging program here at the Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies (BCSS)
Bruno worked with our teams, and we targetted several different species, which we are studying via tagging, isotope and DNA samples, in time-series mode
BCSS is an innovative platform hosting the first permanent ocean observatory focused on multi-ecosystem time series research in Africa. We use our strategic location and data to support environmental management at a local level and facilitate regional collaboration and contribute to international scientific programs
