You forgot to mention that the fish’s level also affects loot quality. If I remember correctly there was an ice cabe where fishing was op because you could get like lvl 300 sabertooth salmon.

You can fish from a pelagirnis to. Alpha tuso can drop a rod but alpha mosa can also drop a rod bp. The loot pool from fishing is kinda limited. You can get full sets of ghillie scuba and leather. Giga saddle and long neck bps to. No flak or pump shotty or fabi sniper. Im a player with 9k hours and alot of time as an admin for a few clusters. i know what im on about lol

Make a 6x6 box in the water with a Dino gate tame a Pachyrhinosaurus or use rare flowers and ride ur dino down the redwood river then get in the water and use the flower or the Pachyrhinosaurus ability and make ur way back to the box all the fish will follow u and u can trap them all in it to then have thousands of fish to fish . To get the rod is ez the alpha spawn in the south east corner of the map . Breed megs or bassys and pump lvls in to hp and MD 5 megs with 20k hp and 1000 MD will rip it to shreds just get the bag and go fishing . Use a rex char char or giga and just eat the floor for leech blood in the swamp tame a bee for honey and use tree sap taps or cut down the swamp trees for sap good luck and have fun or u can tame a pelagornus and ride around on it u have to be seated to fish

I have a few players on my server who REFUSE to play with mods. So I ended up simply changing the loot quality setting for fishing, And I added a line to the config file that changes the stat rate of weight. Example, normally each level adds 10kg to your carry weight, on my server I have to set to add 20 or 30kg. I do this so Im not using mindwipe tonics just to hold a full stack from my industrial forge. EG levelling heavy into my weight so im not throwing it on the floor to slip it into smaller stacks

I love taming and using basi for water just a great tame and passive tame I think you can get it pretty early game, but I guess you do need flippers at least. That under rated sarco could help get a basi and kill the mantas.

It´s not that bad, to take out Mosas, Tusos can be annoying, because they ink and run away when low. All you essentially need is a couple sharks and a Basi, to ride on. The more sharks, the better. You can also use Tusos, since they´re the easy to tame. Just make sure that you heal up the dinos, before you go.

The RNG on fishing so bad in ASE. especially with a primitive rod. I've sat around for what amounts to an IRL day and a half before getting a single blueprint. I'm not tanglin' with tuso's to get a better rod, so I might just go grab that mod. It doesn't help that as an activity to do in ark it's pretty boring. and constant interruptions from the local wildlife causing you to waste your bait when you get up off the chair to fend them off is just rude! --- for the curious I was using honey and leech blood... I got the blueprints off the leech blood, and nothing but junk using honey and sap.

Nah. Those 2 types of alpha are easy with a basilo mate-boosted pair. I used a wild high-level pair and the levels you can get with health and damage alone are top-tier. Not to mention the fact of Tusoteuthis being unable to grab the basilo. If your health is low, just surface and force-ferd fish. They regen health faster at surface.

Alpha mosa hits harder than the tuso. But tuso runs away and inks so you gotta chase at times. I have fought 2 alpha mosa at the same time in GEN2 on ASE but had to take a break to heal right away after the fight. A good saddle helps but is not necessary, also a rider helps with atk speed on 2nd basilo
