Yeah, I was just about scouted out! A lot of the time, I settle on one of the first spots I see and end up wasting hours in a bad spot. Here, many spots were either super shallow or a serious challenge not to fall completely into the water. My spot was pretty good. That point in the distance looked interesting but I didn't have it in me to power out there to look. Next time! Thanks for checking it out.

That fish was nice! I never fished Tahoe in decades of fishing all around the area. I finally fished it last June in that first Lake Tahoe clip I put up. I've nailed nice trout at several spots around the lake and I've only been skunked once in many tries. I have clips up for all of it on my playlist for lakes. Yes, shore fishing at Lake Tahoe is a viable thing! Hit it early morning, find water at least 10 feet deep, and throw it way out there! I move up to a half OZ slip sinker to help with that. Hope you can get out and give it a shot before the heat and crowds come.

I have kayaked year round at Sand Harbor for 10-years. I have never seen anyone fishing from the state park. I was going to make a sarcastic comment until I saw the giant fish you caught. Great job. Next Lake Tahoe trip try Cave Rock. I always see folks fishing from the rocks next to the parking lot. The parking fee is good for 1-day at Sand Harbor, Cave Rock and Spooner's Lake, so you can try your luck at 3-places.
@wildernesswithamani10273 жыл бұрын
Right on. Thanks. I actually have a Cave Rock Clip up where I fall into the water as I'm reeling in a fish! Entire leg soaked! I have that clip and several others for Lake Tahoe on my "Lakes and reservoirs" playlists. The fish are out there. I've fished Tahoe a bunch of times from shore since last June and I've hit good fish every time but one. I haven't fished Spooner Lake yet but I hiked up to Marlette Lake from that state park and got some nice trout. That's on my "Alpine Lakes" playlist and the hike up there is on my "Hiking" Playlist. A lot of people seem to ride bikes up to Marlette and back down to Chimney Beach but I was on foot. I guess there is a shuttle that takes people back and forth from Spooner Lake State Park to Incline Village so they can ride the whole route without having to circle back. I have cool stuff to do and see all around the area on my channel if you are interested. The hike to Winnemucca Lake near Kirkwood is supposed to be great for wildflowers early July. Me, wild flowers aren't my thing so I just hike up there for the fishing! Thanks for checking out the clip.

@@wildernesswithamani1027 I watched a couple of your other videos. I paddled by your fishing spot today. You probably don't want to hear this, but at noon is was sunny, calm and 55-degrees. There is a white line to help with this. I subscribed. BTW, I have a friend that partied in the Chimney Beach cabin in the 1970's.

Great fish Amani! Further north at hidden beach is awesome too. You should go explore that area and find the rocks you like. I like the ones that are past the cove you pass going south after you park. In the summer I’ll swim over with my gear to the pair of rocks a little bit further out than the ones you can get on by foot, and damn is the action good there. Never been skunked there and gotten many over 20 at that spot. Pretty instantaneous when I drop a live minnow around there.

I use it in the dozens of videos on my two playlists dealing with river fishing and in all of my videos on my 'backcountry lakes and reservoirs' playlist. Nice job Amani! Thank's for getting a mic for when your not near the camera.Way better audio!! Keep it comin!
@wildernesswithamani10273 жыл бұрын
Actually, I abandoned the external mic months ago because with my gopro camera, if you don't turn it on first and then hit record it won't record audio. Without the mic, I just have to hit record which is ideal when I need to focus on a hook set rather than waiting for the camera to turn on and then hit record. Seconds count when you are fighting a fish or need to get to a rod that's getting bit. Missed a lot of bites because of that mic too. After losing total audio in several instances of me landing nice fish, I threw that mic away! Fortunately, I'm a dude who talks loud anyway so ticking that volume up a notch isn't a challenge for me. No mic necessary here!

do you need a nevada license since its technically nevada ? or does tahoe have special exceptions for CA residents
@wildernesswithamani10272 жыл бұрын
If you look in the Fish and Wildlife regulation guides online for both States, each one seems to indicate that either license is good on the lake. Nevada has it in the special regulation section and California has it under licenses. I have both state licenses, Nevada resident license and California non-resident license with a second rod designation, so I don't worry about it. As with all regulations I comment on, I strongly recommend that you confirm them for yourself from official sources before heading out. Good luck.
