Would it be beneficial to keep the hatcheries open, releasing smolt grown from wild run salmon, at least to try and support the transition?

What has been done in the past clearly doesn't seem to be working now, this looks to be the way forward and we should all get behind it and stop whinging. Yes lower flows, higher irrigation take have had an impact, but so too the hatchery fish if you believe the science. Trawlers are a bullshit excuse in my opinion, and so many people have debunked this. Thanks for this video. Most people fishing for salmon it's a great day getting one! restore the wild run and habitat, and fight to reduce irrigation in the long run and hopefully in 5-10 years we start seeing the turnaround.
