Man I completely skunked for 3.5 hours and was about to go on to the house and take my tail kicking; decided to try another 2 waypoints on way back to the ramp--> 1st 1 they started schooling 5 mins later and smashed em for 15 mins straight. Went to last one and was kinda dead too, like usual when you say last cast get a bite. Stayed and caught em there for 15-25 mins there as well. Ended with a 4.52, 3.07, 3.01 and several several cookie cutters. Hoping you wrecked em!

These last few videos have been the best because you’ve mixed in a little teaching to go along with the gear. We all could have boxes of gear and totally unable to fish them correctly because we don’t know quite how we’re supposed to. I’ve picked up on small things I’ve missed thanks to these videos. 👍

Blade bait bite rocks in the fall on erie and conesus in new york once the water temps drop to low 50s and it gets even better as the temps dip into the 40s. Short hops on the bottom with an occasional longer rip. Fast tip is a must, fluoro is a must (i use 12# invisx or red label), fast reel is a must to keep up with smallies as they dart to the surface. Make your own all the parts are on jannsnetcraft (ss splits #2, ss snaps for line tie, 5/32 holographic eyes (silver, gold, chart), die cut holo tape (silver, gold, chart) for bodies, vmc BN 1X short shanks #4. If you aren’t a smelter and don’t wanna pour the lead on the brass or nickel blanks you get from janns, you can buy the already weighted blanks brass or nickel in a cariety of weights from Barlow’s tackle. Lose too many in the zebras and rocks to buy fancy ones and the homemade ones work just fine. Nice little winter project i have 100 nickel blanks arriving today that i will assemble and give to friends who like to use em!

In the winter where im at water get brutal cold high 30s low 40. In maine further north people will ice fish. Sertain parts where i live is great for ice fishing sometimes in the river. Football head Jigs are great for winter fish. Get a chunk and some procure trophy bass game on. 😊❤

Up here in the north...water temps in the 40s but a nice day yesterday in the 60s, shore fishing I was catching fish right off the bottom hopping the blade, then catching other bass at the end of the retrieve holding to the rip rap. Blade baits are a great option this time of year, thanks for the video!

Matt I have to say, one of TB most epic videos is you throwing a blade bait in that small cove (you may have took Tim this year) . But that’s not an Expride 7-2ml, that massive bite is the 6-10 m. One of TB best videos

Matt I caught my 11.4 lb PB after watching a video of you have an epic day crushing them on a blade bait. I bought a few Damiki blades and the first time I threw it I wore them out. They had never seen a bait like it. Within 2 weeks of using them I caught my PB. It’s been game on ever since. They are very effective and underused lures.

I watched your blade bait videos years ago and implemented them into my cold water arsenal… I have to say, I have caught bass in the middle of winter in god awful conditions on blade baits when absolutely nothing else could catch fish. I’m all in on Damiki Vault’s! If I could have only 2 baits all winter long they would be a jerkbait and a blade bait!
@danieltaylor9459 Жыл бұрын

I got turned on to blade baits a few years back after a couple videos of TB. And it works absolutely fantastic in cold water (and I even mean…cold as in Chicagoland land area cold-before ice fully covers the lake). I’d definitely throw a few BB’s this winter if you have any open water where you live.
@danieltaylor9459 Жыл бұрын
Oh…and I should have clarified-I should have said ‘lakes’. I didn’t specifically only mean Lake Michigan. (Though it kills it there as well. And USUALLY…no matter how cold it gets…you can find open water on Lake Michigan from the shore.)

i use a tailspin year round in the south, i burn 1/4 OZ tailspins in ponds and its effective as hell, i use a Shimano Clarus 7'2 ML fast paired with a Shimano curado 70 MGL with 10lb invisx and it slays 365 days of the year. dont underestimate these baits, i catch hundreds of bass using them.

So far here in Colorado ponds. The fish have completely stopped biting everything no matter what I throw. In some of these ponds, you can fish the entirety of the water because they are small enough. So they're either all schooling together in one little area that I can't find or they're not eating anymore.
@vansaukam799 Жыл бұрын
I fished Colorado for 30+ years...what you're experiencing is the fall turn over, although it's a bit late in November. You can jig a small metal blade bait in the deepest depressions in the small bodies of water, or even still slow roll a lipless or drag a small jig...it's all about being on top of where the fish are congregated. I used to catch largemouth and smallmouth when half a pond was still covered in ice at South Platte ponds, bottom jigging a 1/2 oz gold Binsky blade bait...it works in the coldest water so long as you are on top of the fish. Good luck.

If you buy one lipless crank you might as well buy 3 because you will be losing some. I use mine on straight braid to minimize the lost baits. Fish don't seem to mind.
