Fishing Planet #23 - S7 | Ghent-Terneuzen Canal: Three Uniques in Thirty Minutes!
Over the next several episodes, I have decided to I continue on revisiting earlier maps within Fishing Planet to see how much has changed. This includes whether the old fishing hotspots for UNIQUE species still work, and maybe even discover new locations and hotspots!
GHENT-TERNEUZEN CANAL, NETHERLANDS
As with the last episode, I have been checking out the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal, Netherlands map. As I mentioned before, I have not been here for at least a couple of years, and even it seems that they have made a lot of changes to the AI.
Prior to this recording, I was originally surprised to discover that the bit rates on the map were way down from what I had remembered and I was not catching any Unique versions of the species. It got so bad that I was beginning to believe that the catch rates were nerfed down! Before I jumped to any conclusions, I then decided to change ALL my gear, including the heavy bottom rods I had been using to lightweight lower-level feeder rods. I also removed all braided line and titanium leaders, using only fluorocarbon as much as possible. I had researched that the common bream are often frightened by heavy lines, so I decided to test that theory also.
Then all &#$@ broke loose! Bite rates went through the roof with the Common Bream, Common Roach, Ide, European Flounder, Round Goby, and even Thicklip Mullet! Not only did I bring in tons of these species in just a short period of time, but also three distinct Uniques including Common Roach, Common Bream, and Thicklip Mullet!
I can't wait to test the bite rates with the European Eels!
