I watched someone automate there too in the everglades a few months ago. I know it was automated based on several things. 1 they cast in the exact same spot over and over, 2 they took forever to recast after catching a fish, 3 when I asked in chat about there being a way to automate your toon, that player logged off within 45secs.

I don't do any comps at all. I just love to fish. I don't need to inter a tournament for any reason. I am happy competing with myself. I work to get a bigger fish and make myself happy. I had heard about the cheating and decided that it wasn't worth the effort. I love fishing planet and enjoy the fishing on my own. I fish because I can't make it to a lake near me anymore. Competitions are fine for some, but for me I am good fishing to make myself happy.

Hi Dave, I'm with you bud, I don't understand why people cheat, it just makes people like me not want to do the comps. When you first told me how they were cheating, I was thinking "how the hell do people play more than one account at the same time, unless they are fishing with bottom or float poles", what I didn't realize is that the comps last so long that they can enter with one account, complete the comp, then log into another account and do it again. That's so bogus, to say the least. Anyway, I really appreciate you and Rex posting videos on how to go about playing in the tournaments, you've both helped me a lot, and I've been a max level for ... idk, a couple years now. Keep up the good work my friend, and thank you for taking the time to help people do better in the tournaments (and thanks for the help with getting uni's again, because I didn't mark a lot of the little fish and you saved me a lot of time trying to catch all the fish again). personally i don't see a problem with multiple accounts, but i do see a issue with multiple accounts joining a comp as that certainly is not fair and the only way i could see that being addressed is a ip option so once that ip has entered a comp its locked to that account only issue with that i guess is if multiple people in one property wants to enter the comp only one in theory would be able to which suck if i come to that i guess, i suppose a hardware id lock thing could be possible but not a whole fix to a crap situation

Good to bring it up Dave, cheaters are killing games. I quit WoW after repeatedly reporting several players cheating with farming. The big company Blizzard thanked me for reporting, but 2yrs later, same guys doing the same things. And to think KpShamino has been blocked for this, while he never participated in a tournament with his second char. Hope it gets fixed! Tight lines!

I mean some people just suck so bad at fishing or competitive gaming in general for that matter that they feel the need to use 2 accounts or cheating software to feel better about themselves and pretend like they are good at something, when in reality they are grossly incompetent at the game and can't stand the idea of losing. Seriously, It's like the old saying among dark souls players, get good. Put the effort in and hone your skills. wether it be fishing, shooters, RPGs etc. If you get good, you won't have to cheat, and it'll be 100x more rewarding and satisfying being legit. I honestly used a aimbot/ wall hack once, for a single day, ages ago on steam playing Day of Defeat source. It was the most boring, unsatisfying, and shitty feeling I ever experienced playing an online competitive game. Like I may have been at the top of the team, but when i know that it's not because I'm actually good at it, it's only the cheat software. It feels way worse to win unfairly than it does to lose legitimately. Just learn to fish and get good, then you won't need 2 accounts

Hi Dave, would you mind sharing your opinion with KPShamino on this? As you may know, he was a fantastic ambassador and creator for Fishing Planet, but he was banned for having two accounts. I truly believe as he said one was purely for making videos - not cheating. But after being banned he quit and I'd like to see him back. Maybe if he understood the problem more he'd understand... Hey Dave, good to see you/someone speaking up about cheating, as a relatively new player I enter quite a few competitions, I'm on Steam/PC, in the addition to multi accounts, what I see more than anything else is players using exploits, I use your vids and KrellicOG vids as guides for comps, in the last 2 days I have competed in 'Teenies in the Night' winning score was 85! double a 'normal' score, San Joaquin Extravaganza winning score used to be around 700lb winning score less than 48hrs ago was 1850lb !!! the devs really need to crack down on these exploits, the Troy rod and oversizing amongst others, personally I think oversizing should be restricted to Weeping Willow comps only & the Troy rod banned from comps altogether, 99% of players have no idea about these exploits and never will, because they play the game as it should be and would never think of looking for/using an exploit/cheat, they enter and play competitions not knowing that they will NEVER win a competition because of players who do. I sent an email to the devs raising my concerns regarding comps through Steam and got what looks like a auto generated reply, perhaps we need a petition or something from players across all platforms to really bring cheating to the fore with the devs as a major concern for all players, old and new, anyways tight lines Dave, lets hope we see some real positive developments on this front in the very near future.

They are using 2nd accounts in comps and tournaments and taking spots from other people. 3. They are using 2nd accounts in competitions where they would normally lose rank so that they can keep their main account highly rated.

Thanks Dave, as I said before, I HAD two accounts, my second account was just to do the missions. I deleted it now since I got to the point where I'd rather play with my primary account only to work on getting all the fish on the list in each lake. I really feel like they could do more, but is probably cost prohibitive. Punk Buster works well for exploits but not the second account business.

I've got emails from 2017 to fishing planet complaining about double accounts in competitions.. they didn't do anything then, they wont any time soon. I'm talking people with names for example - Bon-Faci and Bon-Facy.. 3rd and 4th place.. tell me thats not the same person? lol

They banned alot of player last week in the tournament probably 20+. 1st time they have done that on PlayStation. And alot of teammates have similar names including people I know, doesnt prove they are cheating.

For daily comps one, not so perfect fix/improvement would be to limit comp count for 24h down to 2 for example. Some none cheating players would hate it as they are playing practically 24/7. But I think majority of the players are ok with 2 comps per day limit. This would not eliminate cheaters but would cut down double accounts in the same comp drastically. Or maybe there are some crazy ones who are willing to create tens of accounts and max them out. But yeah, for tournaments its impossible.

But 2 comps per day would mean 1-2,5h of gameplay per day which I believe is more than enough for majority of players. But you don’t have to worry I don’t think they will ever implement it.

Mac Address would be 1 per router right? That's really no fair to those of us that play with other people. My girlfriend and I play so that would mean we both can't enter. The best solution would be for the devs to be active in the banning. If people are opening talking about it hit those first. After a few accounts with hours of grinding or hundreds of dollars spent get banned less people would in theory take the risk.

Taking 2 spots in the semifinals hurts the honest players. Seems silly to me to have a qualifying score and still compete on the second account. Since semifinals are at a set time you couldn't easily compete on two accounts.

I am very familiar with that particular person and the team he is associated with, because I use to be part of that team. He took both those qualifier spot on the fisherman, which still is not right That particular team has 2 other player that I know of who have multiple accounts and that whole team accuses others of cheating which is ironic. It is a major problem with multiple accounts, but I don't see a solution to it

Love the vids dude I've been using your guides for forever now, I don't think I fully understand the issue on here though, I have 2 accounts, one on the microsoft version to play with my xbox friends and one on steam to play with my PC friends, but I play both using my PC since the microsoft store is cross-play. I don't think i see where 2 accounts becomes cheating, even if their on the same platform, since you can't trade items or send XP to another account, there's literally no feasible way to benefit from a second account, all it does is slow your progress and make it even harder and slower, holding them back. I might have missed the whole part where it becomes an issue but i can't actually think of a single way in which having a second account isa benefit to anyone in the first place. Someone help me out, what am i missing? Seems like a totally irrelevant non-issue. I can see it being kinda cheesy if people are entering the same tourney on 2 accounts on the same platform, since you steal a spot from another real player, but aside from that, how do you even benefit from that? Genuine question, no hate at all, I can't stand cheaters either, this just doesn't appear to remotely resemble cheating to me yet.

@@SoopaDaveGaming Oh ok I see I didn't actually know there were tradeable items, that is pretty lame of they're getting twice the limited time items everyone else gets, for most of us if we lose the event item it's gone for good where as they have less risk, and abusing the tournaments is a scummy move on their part too, I hadn't really considered the damage to the competitive scene and the integrity of the leaderboards, I can see why it's becoming an issue then, especially when they're taking positions away from actual players following the rules and all

On steam, double accounts in the same competition are not possible unless you can connect with a different ip, on playstation account management is done by sony and I don't know if they care enough.

Also this is an incorrect statement as we now see. On PlayStation the accounts are mananged by the games. No other games were affected today. It was only when people signed in to the tournament on Fishing Planet from the same ip.

This is one I've talked about before as well, but used to be against it until I didnt get a response from Fishing Planet on it. Makes me think its intentional design to get more people to do the certain competitions but I'm not sure seems like they definitely dont have an issue with it though.

The only way i could think to fix this is to make the times set for everyone. So it isnt possible to use 2 accounts at the exact same time without running multiple devices at same time. I mean it can be really hard for people to all log in at exactly same time. Like you gotta he there and logged in before the start. That's how my horse game is. Also would solve them not making it 1 account per household. because you your kids your wife/husband would all have to be logged on on different devices same time. Same with a phone game i play. War is ALWAYS 730pm Thursdays and Saturdays. There is zero way for people to use multiple accounts and participate in war. Just an idea of how they could make it more fare without killing the ability for family/household members to all still be able to play. Cant log out and log back in after the event has already started....

i contact fishing planet support checked ones again that family/household must have their own device and own account for each person. It means you can play on two PS consoles for example. Maybe a solution for PS could a form on game loading screen where you provide MAC LAN and MAC WIFI address of you PS. Could be found in system information. This data would be linked to PSN account email . When switched new console your unlink old one and connect new one. This way it's impossible to play from multi accounts on same console

Hi I have one account on Xbox and one on playstation they are low levels but I don't do comps I just enjoy playing the game as i use to go fishing but due to bad health I no longer can so i play all types of fishing games but as time gose on people are wrecking the fishing games why I've no idea something needs to be done about those who cheat and glitch the game and I agree with what is being said thank you for talking your time to read this

I have been playing this game on and off since 2018 and have seen all kinds of things with it. Take the top 100 ranking for comps. It used to mean something to be up there. Now its a complete joke, most of the rankings or numbets arentt real, the numbers have been manipulated by people dumping baskets in order to not lose points in comps. See people using troy rods in comps to catch 400lb sharks, catfish, african tiger fish and others, in the comp rules it clearly says match rods only. Having more than 1 account isnt the only way to manipulate or cheat the game and its players. Know several people who have hindreds of trophies yet arent in the top 100 but they dont cherry pick which comps they do or dump baskets. Then see people with less combined trophies than they have wins alone in the top 100. Why a lot of people who played it for years dont even play it anymore and could care less about it. Whether its accounts, rankings, glitches to use 6lb set ups to catch 400lb fish fast. Manipulation is manipulation period. If people are going to cry or want to talk about chearing or manipilating the game then lets atleast be real about it. There are many ways to exploitt,cheat or manipulate the game, its comps and its numbers or ranking system.

Also check the comps by the way (i.e. Blaze The Maze)they float tackle not match rods so telescopic poles are legal.(don't like them mechanic though) Since I started playing since 2015 multiple accounts seems like the most damaging thing to the game.

@@SoopaDaveGaming didnt copy and paste anything. These things have been going on for years, i know people who got banned over it years ago. Its funny how some people get banned while others just keep on going with several accounts and know damn well fishing planet knows about it and who they are. All im saying is if we are going to talk about and bring up manipulating the game lets be real about it and point out there are lots of people manipulating the game in lots of ways. Using custom comps to help froends get coins, using 6lb gear to fet 400 lb fish 30ft from the boat to not spend time fighting them, padding their numbers in comps. The multiple accounts is just one of many ways people do this. In my house we have several ps4, ps5, xbox s and x series, lap tops, pc and tablets. If i were bored to death and had nothing better to do could use the pc and laptop to create steam accounts, could use the ps 4 and 5 to creat different accounts as well as with the xbox and have accounts on different devicrs. Between the xbox x and s and ps 4 and 5 could have 4 seperate accounts on 4 different devices. Kinda hard to stop that, especially if using different devices or consoles. Its ok to manipulate the game in one way but not another? I have seen people get kicked off the game or banned because they are cousins who would stay at ones house both play a comp on the ps4 there, go spend a few days at the other cousins house both do comps on the ps4 there and got banned for using multiple accounts. In all actuallity they were using 2 playstations at 2 different houses depending on where they were at the time. Had no intention of cheating or manipulating the game in any way, just were related and spent time at 2 houses with 2 different consoles. Guess they could have unplugged the consoles and taken them with them every where they go to stay if want to play while there.

@@SoopaDaveGaming cheaters are gonna cheat no matter what. If stop them one way they will figure out another. I have been playing since 2018 its 2023 and as you said yourself its actually gotten worse. Those are your own words. It has gotten to the point to where i dont even pay attention to it any more, i also dont take it serious or put the time and effort into the game like i used to and for several reasons, multiple accounts being just one of them. I have seen people qualify in a tournament on fishing planet then go play the fisherman qualify there. They know damn well they can only play 1 qualifier on 1 device or version. Thats taking a spot from someone else as well. Then they will do the qualifier they think they have the best chance in. At the end of the day have no control over what other people do, how they do it or the outcome for that matter, RNG pretty much decides that for me, all i can do is hit the spots I know and get what the game gives me. Some people dont like what they get so they dump their baskets like the comp never happened or jump on another device or account to try their luck there. If all else fails they will try it on the fisherman.

Woop woop my second comp win on ps is on Dave's channel! The double accounts problem is higher on playstation and xbox. On steam you'll have to resort to a second pc because of hardware id's that are being compared, unfortunately they can't do that on ps. But yea fully agree, exposed them all!

He/she is using what's called 'oversizing' a legit part of the game, but something that needs to be restricted to Weeping Willows imo, there are vids about it here on YT including a couple from Dave...........

I think it needs to be clarified you CAN have multiple accounts you could have 50 of them. But you can only compete with ONE. Tons of people have multiple accounts, and only compete with one of them, want to clarify those people are not the problem.

mult accounts is cheating according to FP. Even KP Shamino got the ban hammer for accidentally logging into a second account while in a tourney. Ban them all.
