Tried this with a different reel on the lowest drag and it works. Try not to let the sharks run into the deep. You may get a lucky bounce and they will just come up.

How do you cast beyond 38 feet on a ps5

I am not sure. If you played the tutorial you use a telescopic rod there and it will show you. Maybe look at your bindings ? I’m sorry. I only know the pc way

Using the same set up on Xbox one, and it will not cast past 35 feet. My other rod will but not that one.

If you’re using controller I think you hold your right stick in and then it will make it so you cast further. Otherwise yes you can’t cast farther due to it being a telescopic rod.

@Much Anxiety I wa suing the nile to farm up but ran out of time, got stuck in Amazon and I swear sharks were driving me nuts! Nothing but young ones and the occasional regular...never a trophy. 10 minutes using your method and I had 2 trophys in the bag and then ended my night with a 420# monster good for 64th on the leaderboard! THANK YOU this makes the grind much more manageable.

If not, I’m not sure what the button would be on console but there is something you have to hit in order to turn the telescopic rod into a normal rod when it casts

The boat does do that if you’re using the lower level setup. I promise it works. The game just acts weird due to the setup because it’s such low equipment. Sorry you’re not enjoying.
