When I first started playing train simulator world on ps4, I was a little late to the party lol, they were about to announce train sim world 2, I was a bit upset because I just almost finished buying all the dlc and then the developers said if you own train sim world or any expansions you can upgrade to the newer versions for free, thank you dove tail games 🇬🇧

The Q: at hand - YES, IDC if you change the name, it's still the same game and those who have laid the groundwork and paid the bills should be given a golden ticket, so to speak on the 'new game'. As a new player, I thought 'this could add up to big bucks real quick' with all the micro packs sold. So far I haven't purchased anything. I've only been playing about 2 weeks and still trying to figure things out. With that said, I am much more apt to purchase a one time $40-50 price point game with various bonus DLC content along the way. Of course that depends on the verbiage of the game. I would be willing to pay $40 for the base game with the North America map. Then earn my tackle buying ability with in-game points/coin as in most games. Every now and then throw in something extra special for a few $3-$7 DLC like a Ranger Bass boat. But at least start us out in a kayak for our base money. However, back to the Q:, I can almost bet the old game (old name), will stop development and not be played along side the new game (new name).

I think the FP is simply following the "template" laid out by other super successful video games - as long as they don't discontinue the FTP version then it's just another option right? We are free to choose - I've put 5K + hrs in the PC version and invested some $ on premium then leveled up on the PS4 version without spending a dime leveling up without premium is tedious - So I'm on the fence when it comes to the new version - lots of unanswered questions and rumors... like they'll be baitcoins for uniques etc...

I've always enjoyed fishing planet , but I have never spent a dime on the game . I would be willing to give the developers the money for the new game only if I could continue my level 28 character , which it does not sound like is going to be an option . The grind is too grindy to justify doing it twice, so I guess I'll just be sticking to the free to play version .

I think it’s a ripoff to the ones that have been on FP for years and personally have invested hundreds of dollars with them from premium and dlc and what’s worse you can’t join the 2 accounts so you would have to start from scratch which would not be good as I have accrued over 21 million dollars to date on the game and have a rank of 265 the recent update they did is horrible as some fish are impossible to even bring in they take you out to 250ft and at best you can bring them in to 50ft then back out again to start over spending 3 real time hours to do this and still can’t bring it in that using the best heavy tackle to date. Also seems like the lag on the lakes are getting worse not even being to spent a full hour on a lake before having to reset the lake and don’t get me started on the recent blue screens lately sometimes 3-4 a day which you loose tackle when it happens I’m not the only one this has been happening to recently many of my friends will not even play he game anymore until this is fixed. I play on the ps4 under mrelk2 that many know me under. Also they will not be buying the new game either knowing they will have to start from scratch again and also invested hundreds of dollars in FP also. I really hope they get their act together or they will be loosing the customers they have that they have been making money off of including myself. Even doing comps are not any fun anymore as it takes to long to get fish needed in the amount of time given. Most comps are 45min to an hour game time and some fish take an hour to get in alone

Some facts: It's basically the same as the current game , BUT without the grindfest and microtransactions and F2P flaws. What we know so far: 1. It's pay to own 2. It will come included with all current DLC packs. 3. There will be no expiring licenses , only unlimited licenses and they will be bought with in-game credits. 4. Travel costs will be less 5. Unique fish will give baitcoins ( Like in the old 2015 days ) 6. It will also be online only , no offline play 7. It will run on seperate servers. You will have a completely different character on that game. 8. A new lake 9. 4 New species 10. No current progress or content from your current character will carry over. You will start over and completely separate character on this game. 11. Current F2P game will still be supported and maintained. 12. Fish will give more credits 13. The current extra 2 DLC listed on Steam will be pre-order bonusses.

@Odinallfather you have point .but players who played this game from the start didn't have all the stuff like now. we had to figure out how to catch the fish and earn rewards now they made the game easy for those crybaby who doesn't even fish in real life .yes we had to grind to lvl up (i worked )it seems a little disrespectful how they trying to get over on all those people who actually put alot of money on this game. Seems like they already had it planned out to sell the game with all the dlc in one package .so what going to happen to those faithful customers who put up money to make the game where it sit now ? I get a big kick out of people who complain about "grinding" in a fishing game. Jeesus, what's your hurry? Fishing is a grind in real life and you are still going to be catching the same fish, the same way. Been playing FP close to 2 years and haven't spent a dime. But I am not trying to win either. Came close to buying the sport pack a few times but glad I did not now. If you spent money on this game, good for you but you spent it because you were trying to win. And thats enough that you shouldn't be whining about the Fisherman now. That's the price you pay for the "I want it all now" style of gaming.
