Great memories from 1963,passed through on my way to Moe from Melbourne.When the tide was out it was great to walk out to the main chanel into Port Phillip bay.

Point Lonsdale is a high risk high reward spot. If you cast close then like 80% of the fish you catch are Wrasse and if you cast far then you get a lot more species, but then you have to retrieve in the rocks and weeds. Not to mention seels are a regular visitor, and once they are there, fishing becomes even more difficult.

I used to think these were luderick too until someone explained that it was a zebra fish, zebra bream or stripey bream....but not a luderick. I'm no expert so I did a bit of research and it seems luderick and zebra fish are often confused with each other.
