Think the top 3 and sections is the perfect way to go. Great chat lads 👍👍

It’s hard enough to get into one of those big money finals, and lots of people are spending quite a bit of money on qualifiers and travelling the country up and down to try and qualify, so I think they should split the payout more evenly in the final, so more people can go away with something

Sometimes winning your section is as good as you can do with the draw so I think a good spread amongst section winners is a must.

Fantastic discussion lads! Personally I think it should be distributed more fairly between the places to allow absolutely every one at a shot of some dollar not just the pros and locals. It should be written almost like they do with horse racing places like 8 anglers or less top 3 places. 20 anglers top 6 for example but should be the same across every match going. Also there should be more newcomers knock up opens where no sponsored or team anglers in any capacity can fish that match.

I help run two clubs and our average attendance is around 22 to 25. We always pay 1st 2nd 3rd and 3 sections. Some guys who never miss a match but hardly ever frame, we feel it's only fair to give all the members a chance to win something, even if its just a section by default. Interesting debate though and there will be numerous opinions on pools payouts 🤔

Hi I run some small open matches 15 - 20 anglers. Always pay lake winner, then 2 to three section prizes so spreads the money out nicely. Keep on with the videos guys 👍🎣🎣🎣

Enjoyed that one lads, I run a few matches each year just 'normal' open type matches and I always try and work the payout based on section prizes being minimum 10 quid more then the entry fee and keep it between 5 and 10 pegs then what ever is left after that I'll split between the top 2 or 3 depending on numbers 👍

I'm liking these short conversation clips. In terms of payout, I like the idea of sections plus top three minimum, then maybe top 5/6 where the numbers are high enough. having said that, it rarely effects me personally!!

Totally agree with the prestige of winning these bigger matches as opposed to the cash.. That's the driver as for that particular year you are the champion 🏆 lucky enough to have won the 200 peg Bridgewater canal championships twice, money was just a bonus as I was the title holder 😊

The club I fish is £10 all in. That’s £7.00 pool money paid out to top 3, 50%, 30% and 20%. Then £2 bonus peg money and £1 guess the winning weight. ( or nearest to it ) so a possible 5 separate winners. 14 happy club members.

You didn't really touch properly on where the money comes from. There is a big difference between sharing out pooled monies as prizes and incentives and sponsors putting up prize money. Entry fee and prize money as a ratio also matters.Optional superpools used to be thing in the past where entry fees could be kept modest and encourage larger fields with an option to pay into the seperate superpool for those who were inclined to.

It’s expensive to match fish nowadays especially the opens. You’re talking £50 a match when you tally up…. Pools money, bait, breakfast, fuel. And then you’ve got to beat the anglers that fish it every week.

They never say how much it costs to enter plus bait plus fuel ,with the class of anglers around now the chances are us less anglers of got less chance or none of winning its ok for you two don’t pay for bait ext us mere mortals are just pool fodder
