I have learned so much from Steven (hope I spelled that correctly) and hope to apply that knowledge very soon, from boat safety, to fishing, to cleaning/cooking, and so on. Such a nice guy and keeps me entertained. Other channels just don’t compare IMHO.

I am a rabies epidemiologist with my state. If you had any direct contact between your skin and the bat, or were bitten/scratched by it, you should reach out to your local/state health department to see if you should receive rabies post-exposure prophylaxis (also called rabies vaccines). I am not joking. Any direct contact, even a glancing blow, between and human and bat can lead to rabies transmission. Rabies is fatal in human beings.

False albacore are very good to eat. If you bleed them out, they make an excellent sushi or sashimi, with a flavor very much like blackfin tuna. They are very good if you then filet them out, skin them and cut into chunks, then follow directions for canning them. They make excellent tuna. Boil the chunks in salted water, let them dry, then pack the dry chunks in a mason jar. They are an oily fish, and the oil cooks out of them. My brother-in-law, who would eat one if you paid him, had a tuna salad my sister made for him. She didn't tell him what it was, but said it was the best tuna salad he'd ever had. Three days later, when he couldn't have psychosomatic upheaval, she told him. He promptly asked for more. My mother used to bake them in the oven, and they were great. But they had to be bled out, because the blood didn't taste good.
