Jacob, after watching your videos and seeing how your equipment performs I have switched all my Reels over to suffix line and couldn’t be more happy. I figured if the best bass angler in the world uses it it must be pretty good. I also just bought my first ducket rod as a present to my self for Xmas. Hope you and your fam have a good Christmas and New Years. Good luck on the up coming mlf season.

I have watched alot of underwater video of the Tokyo rig and the reason it stays connected to the bottom so we'll is because the way the weight swings when it hits the bottom. When the weights hits a rock or anything it actually folds the weight up towards the bait then as it comes over the rock the weight then will swing back down to a 90° angle from the bait so the weight is actually swinging up when hit by cover and swinging back down after it comes over.

Thoughts on how it would perform in winter here in the south with a swimbait instead of throwing an underspin?

I haven’t caught a fish yet on this rig!! I will keep trying next spring can the wire be longer to get bait out of soft mud. More like a drop shot. Midwest lakes for me are very soft bottoms

Jacob, Can you do a comparo between the VMC Jig Rig and Tokyo Rig. I catch way more fish on the Jig Rig and my biggest fish this year all came on that rig. I expected the Tokyo to out fish it. That was not the case. Please explain in detail the lure release method of sending the rod down the line. It looks like it could be an expensive mistake yet you did it a couple of times.
