Fishing the Forth and clyde Canal with Nico

Let's go fishing in the Forth and Clyde Canal and see what's left . Although quite cloudy the water was surprisingly clean with less and less litter . Fishing was quite good in the jungle , not an easy task due to the amount of weed but still enjoyable . Fish got photo taken but are always quickly returned to the water . The weather was sound and so was the scenic adventure . Once again nothing was taken and nothing left . Soft lure fishing with a single hook is probably one of the best method seeking the fish , and avoiding the weed . Enjoy the video , no kayak this week , just a relaxing walk and fish . Thank you Scotland and all this fresh clean water .. Water is life ..

Been enjoying the union canal this summer , never have much luck on the forth n Clyde but like anywhere as you know it takes time to learn the water. Good fishing as always.

This is really on my door step Phil . Always good to spend a couple of hours with the rod in hand . There is still some fish to be caught and released and the litter louts have left ...Looking good

All on my doorstep basically Kayaking northeast , some folks think the canal is rubbish , it can certainly be improved but still a great water to learn how to fish .

@@NicolasValentinScotland yeah I visit west coast alot especially around loch etive, I got the bug while living on isle of Skye for 2 years it was absolutely stunning in all weather and great fishing.

I used to fish a few years ago on the forth and Clyde canal. When I was a kid I never caught a fish then tried a different location and got 3 pike in a few hours. It's probs changed now but the best place was near Banknock and Haggs

I have not eared people eating the fish from the canal for a while . Maybe time is changing and the good fishing can start again Fraser .

Not too late , actually this is a good time using lures , there is less weed in the water and it's worth having a go , fish close to the margins , do not reel fast and keep on casting .

Been fishing the stretch of canal between drumchapel right up to bowling and only caught 2 pike in a few months, used micro lures to bigger lures it's disappointing at times!

that's fishing , never guarantied a fish keiran . Keep at it . Make sure the fish don't see you while fishing

@@NicolasValentinScotland haven't been up as far as bishopbriggs right enough , unfortunately drumchapel, clydebank and along isn't kept well lots of rubbish chucked in and lying around so isn't good to fish at times also

I fish the stretch from clydebank to bowling. Great for perch it use to be a hot spot for pike back in the day. Not so much anymore. I'm getting on my bike and head up to Maryhill/ruchill way.

if the canal is close to your home and not frozen you can fish Xia Liu . You can fish local with one other friend , no more .

In january the fishing is slow and the water very cold , but the fish are the same . Much harder to catch in the winter Xia

Not easy right now because of the weed , I use light tackle and small shad but the very thin brain is still 20lb . Most fish are quite small , with a few bigger one about . Stay on the move if you want to catch , no point sitting in the same spot . Voyager , good luck pal .

@@psychedelicvoyager9331 Fish a slow retrieve as well . Fish will follow the lure to your feet , but don't let them see you . fish are easy spooked !
