I rlly enjoyed watching this video. A few questions though. What line and lider do u use, and what part of the bay are you in? I am going to buy the 5000 nasci and i’m wondering if you think a medium heavy rod would be sufficient for it.
@kyletaylor1986 Жыл бұрын
2500 is the largest reel I fish unless specifically targeting beach snook or tarpon. Otherwise I’m using a 1000 or even 500 size reel. Recommend more people try it for the fun of it!

I’ve watched a bunch of videos and this is the best Shimano Nasci 2500 fishing video. Honestly I have a similar sized combo with my Shimano Sellus 7.1 Med/Fast action rod. I’m thinking of upgrading to a Ugly Stik Elite Medium/Heavy which is more versatile for throwing Whopper Ploppers in the 90mm range. I’m literally learning everything about fishing from KZbin 🙄 still gotta learn to tie a decent knot using straight 8/lb monofilament… any knot recommendations for a med/fast 7.1 foot rod with this reel?
@JCFishin20212 жыл бұрын
Most knots will work for what you are doing. I usually tie an improved clinch knot or a loop knot. Both have their purposes. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

I was thinking of getting either the Shimano 4000 Nasci or Miravel for my semi heavy largemouth and pike rod. So, fishing around weeds, but not super heavy cover. The Miravel looks interesting with that light weight, but would it be sturdy enough? Any recommendations?

I used Shimano reels for 20 years and in the last 5 years I have noticed an appreciable drop in quality and durability. They seems to just wear out. I have not found this with Daiwa reels which seems to get even smoother with age.
@ronniehorton5150 Жыл бұрын
I've had the opposite experience, bought a 3000 Daiwa bg used it a few times liked it alot and on a medium sized seat trout the reel handle stripped out the side of the reel mid fish and the reel was broken and unusable I was pissed my buddy loaned me his ci4 stradic loved it then I bought 4 of the new stradic Fls and my girl got me a van vanford and I couldn't be happy land big snook all day even on my 2500 size ,no issues at all and never fealt a reel quite as smooth as my shimanos
