Your casting is F-ing legit and I’m jealous. You’re putting lures in front of fish 90% of us never do.
@kristinefischer2289 Жыл бұрын
🥲 thank you!! I’ve worked hard to be able to do that because I’ve learned when you’re fishing behind someone or fishing an area that gets a ton of pressure, making casts others can’t is the only way you’re going to get em

There's definitely an ergonomic factor working against the angler from the seated posture in the kayak, where casting and skipping is concerned. The real thing to do to mitigate back injury though, especially in early season where air temperatures are just not very warm (and temperature changes throughout day). Is to stay wrapped up with a 'one-piece' like as shown, or something that protects one's lower back areas from becoming cold. Whilst using those muscles a lot. The other thing that kayak anglers should maybe worry about is twisting sideways to make casting presentation (any basic manual handling teaching always explains it, how it's not a good idea). Be front-on as much as possible while doing tasks (it means that when one gets into more advanced years, one will still be able to perform tasks without making undue wear on the spinal parts. I think what kayaks will eventually have to look into, are some kind of outrigging components in order to stabilize the platform (that rotation of the seat and hull of the vessle is no good at all from a spinal point of view either). It's the individual elements of the spinal member which is having to constantly adjust itself to that. And there are limits on what our skeletons are designed to endure. Some kind of an outrigged component either side of the kayak to stablize it more, would enable the competition angler to stand and fish a lot more. Especially in dead flat water such as that.
