I actually fished short cut i think we went through a mate of a mates property near ingham. I was camping up there across from crystal creek. Stuck 400km west of brisbane now, hanging for a fish.

You should check out Cowley Beach's two boat ramps, Worst in North Queensland. Council up here don't give a rat's arse about duty of care.

Hey Rock, yes, I have seen the Cowley ramps. Not the nicest or safest ramps I have used. I agree, the boaties of Nth Qld are getting a raw deal. Some towns are doing well, others are being left to their own devises.

couldn't agree more with your thoughts mate, time on the water is good no matter the number of fish caught. We've all got those days where the fish are just fussy. I was wondering what reel you were using and if you could recommend any other baitcasters, also have you used atomic arrowz for jacks before and do they do a good job? love the releasing as well, cheers

G/day mate, I was using a 150 Tranx, I like them for the style of fishing I do. I will say this, I am and always will stay with Shimano. As for the Rods, I use a Dobbins 6/6. I haven't used atomic arrowz. However I have two from when I was guiding (for client use). A tough rod.
