Fishing VERY SHALLOW Water

Come fish skinny water with me in today's video! Poled myself up creek during an outgoing tide & snuck up on tons of fish that were bedded down in holes around this shallow creek. Had so much fun using only artificial baits, make sure to check out all my catches !

The rock was next to the boat that I pointed out in the beginning of the video, I've never hit anything. The flats here are also all sand so the hull is flawless

Closest I have been to that kind of fishing is with a flat bottom John boat on a shallow pond sight casting for carp. There were two of us and took turns fishing and poling. It is interesting to glide over the top of fish and turtles and watch them skitter away! Stay safe! We all have our versions of nirvana.

I made the outgoing tide mistake in October. In a kayak. I have photos of my paddle marks back to shore. It was GRUELING! The flats are closed for bird hunting right now, but Mar 1st, I am definitely heading back! That boat is awesome for sight fishing! At 6’6”, I would be 10’ tall on the water.

The water looks so clear! just got back into fishing after many years. not much kit yet due to cost and fishing fees. out of interest do you have to pay in the US? We have to have a rod licence and pay to fish in lakes and rivers in the UK. the cost can vary so much. new sub. cheers.

I’m really surprised you can float that skiff ( hopefully mine in the future 😉 ) in only 3-4 inches of water! Hopefully you didn’t damage the prop on the rock. You didn’t catch any huge ones, but some small ones are better than none at all, like you’ve said to me, that’s fishing 🎣 😉. Thanks for sharing 😃

how much leader line do you tend to put for areas like these? I'm still new to fishing. Was told 3-6 feet was a good number but been starting to see people run about 1 foot max. Curious to what the reason could be of running It so short
