As a kayaker and a fisherman I can say without doubt that fish aren't bothered by passing canoes and kayaks. I used to paddle the Canterbury Stour and it was gin clear. I used to pass over shoals of Roach and Chub. They weren't bothered. The occasional bigger Chub would duck out of sight as I passed over them. I wish I'd worked out an anchoring system so I could have stopped and fished for them!

Respect to anyone who can target River Carp in the UK successfully. I've tried a few times and failed, it's not easy at all.
@TAFishing Жыл бұрын

@nigeisfree7837 Жыл бұрын
Ive seen many carp in the river thames in Abingdon nr Oxford but never seen anybody just out there as you say targeting them probably have to sit there for days but you never know catch one on the fluke fair play but the wild river carp are a different bread they are hard as nails
@cameroncameron2826 Жыл бұрын
Myself and an old fishing buddy enjoyed what was to proved a 'spoilt' time with carp on the lower thames late 80's. Anyone would have caught those fish since the area in question just happened to have plenty of them at the time. Discovered by accident again when barbel fishing, they usually rocket downstream like trains when hooked. We went for them from the bank and in a punt which tends to be how a lot of thames carp men do it. Late evening / early morning bites. But i'm not sure it was ever that relatively easy since as i think it defaulted to less but more big fish & then its into the very dedicated as mentioned. Funny habits thames carp have and will eat anything really, they think nothing of mopping up tons of hemp & caster / luncheon / saus / boily / pellet worm / if you find them they'll eat it. Its nice to recall those thames carp days again.

Very similar in shape I agree,Barbel are powerful,but not in the same speed range as the Bonefish. Barbel would be more dogged ,the Bonefish stronger on a longer run.But of course Bones run hard because they live in shallow water .

Great video as always amd I just hope you know just how informative and enjoyable your videos are! I have just started fishing again on the HDAA waters after a 40 year absence and am interested to know on which stretch you were fishing?
@TAFishing Жыл бұрын
Just on the Hereford & District AA stretch ...I don't know any other places though I did get Barbel at a place miles upstream which was on a day ticket. Something "Court",I think it had a lake there as well,though I don't know if its still on a day ticket. Certainly a beautiful stretch of river up there. I don't think it matters where you fish,I hear the Barbel are all the way up and down.
