Fishing Willie's Pond, Carcass Road and Deer 'Corpasses,' and 'WHOA, Man!' | Ep 179

Күн бұрын

Willie's well-stocked pond sets the stage for Jase and Stone's redneck rivalry. The Robertsons have strong feelings about serving dove and quail together. Al and Lisa's 36th wedding anniversary prompts a discussion of marriage and "WHOA, man!" Phil, Jase, and Al talk about the deer "corpasses" on Carcass Road (thanks, Miss Kay!), liberal science deniers, and atheist attempts to disprove the Bible. And Phil warns against turning the Bible into rocket science.

If I ever get/had lots of money, the last thing I’d do was move to a community of more rules and regulations, no home owners association, no condo board. Augh. Just don’t understand it. Americans fight for freedom and then do their level best to make sure no one enjoys it. Just thoughts before they air ...

Laura it dont take money to live in a community. Nor does it take a dollar to live off grid. There are homeless ppl in city, and in woods. Its not money that makes us wanna live together or apart. Its what ur made of, its what God put inside you that draws you to people. When ur around someone you love, is it there physical face that warms ur heart? Or is it just simply that they are physically there that makes you happy? God created us to be social. Some more than others, but we need each other so that we can be as beautiful as we were meant to be. These gentleman are a great example.

I firmly believe that because of all I have learned from you all that I was better able to handle losing my Daddy this year. Cancer is a mean beast, but it released him to a better place where he is not suffering this ugly world. I never once did the whole "let's hate God for taking him" thing, but rather thanked Him for taking Daddy to a happier place. Thank you all for what you do, it means the world to alot of us.

I wish you would do a study of Revelations. I am a sister in Christ but last night I watched a documentary on Revelations and now I’m confused about the Order of things to come. The rapture, antichrist, tribulation, the1,000 year of reign of Jesus on the earth, Armageddon. I’m from Georgia and have always went to a Southern Baptist Church. I don’t remember in all my 66 years studying this last chapter. I need a C plus man to help me understand this complex last chapter.😱

Get the book Revelation Unveiled by Dr. Tim Lahaye, who was an excellent Christian pastor, and co author of the "Left Behind" series. I have taught through the book of Revelation 2 times and found that book very helpful. The first 3 chapters mention the " church" 17 times, but beginning in chapter 4, the "church" is never mentioned again, as the chuch is raptured from the earth PRIOR to the last 7 years, known as the time of Jacob's trouble, a clear reference to how God will deal with the nation Israel.

I got married at 18 and a fairly new born again Christian and the wife was 19. We have now been married for 51 years as of last month and nobody thought we would make through one year being that young at the time. I actually had to have my Mom sign for me her and my dad were divorced. Right before I got married I asked my Dad for a job when I got back. It was lifting and stacking 100 pound sacks of dry beans all day I only weighed 128 and he said I couldn't do it but he let me give a try. Before long I could carry two sacks at a time and carry from the back warehouse to the front and put them into someone's car trunk or the bed of a pickup and that was about a 100 yard walk possibly a bit more.

Great podcast, thanks all! Thoughts: I remember being told, concerning marriage and the faith, that "marriage between a man and a woman is a mirror of God's long-suffering patience with man(kind)." And at first, that sounds kind of funny, possibly even depressing, ha, but really... when you think about it, it's profoundly beautiful. And we know that because He sent His Son to die for us, out of His incredibly patient and forgiving LOVE for man! I always likened the Bible to revealing the Holy Trinity from the beginning this way: imagine the Bible being like a theater stage in that God's love is revealed as the stage curtain is slowly drawn open, from left to right, gradually revealing the "star of the show" in the center of the stage, Jesus, or the HEART of Who God is/the HEART of His message, just as His literal, physical appearance occurs around the center of the Bible, revealed at the right time, closing with the sending of the Holy Spirit for all who believe and His return, the climax! Jesus is there from the beginning, slowly getting glimpses of Him, and then boom, He's here! And I personally believe that the reason God's Word has reached SO MANY people in the world is because, keeping things real simple like Phil said, the people whom He's reached wanted truth. Because that's what it all comes down to: the Truth. And you know it when you hear it. God bless all of you!

Jase is on to it , yes sir it all starts with a thought . That's why in Ephesians we are told to bring our thoughts captive and unto obedience . And in Mathew Jesus said about adultry , that if we even think it , we are just as guilty as If we did it , and those thoughts are just as worthy of repentance as is our actions.
