Fishing with LIVE Greenbacks: Easy Way to Catch Fish

In this video, I continued to follow the hot bite right now in the Tampa Bay area which is using live bait for redfish, snook, and speckled trout! The pilchards and threadfins have been everywhere inshore and it has made for some incredibly easy saltwater fishing. I was throwing the greenbacks and white bait up shallow on a grass flat at low tide and then fished a mangrove shoreline closer to high tide. The action was nonstop and made for a fun day of fishing!

Hey man. Love the video. Do you have any tips for night fishing with greenbacks, or is there a better bait at night? I was out under the Skyway last night free lining greenbacks, but all I caught was about 200 catfish and a couple of bonnetheads.

I catch greenbacks off the skyway then hit the flats on my kayak..so fun

@@isaiahhoffer9507 I spent a whole afternoon and all night dropping greenbacks in the flats around those islands by Maximo, and all I caught was catfish, so I finally moved out to deeper water and caught a couple of sharks

As far as night fishing I only use lures under docks for snook. Whenever I use greenbacks off the skyway I never catch much at night unless your over the coral reef that is located about 50 yards west of the north pier at the end of it. Grouper down there for sure.

So was that your PB on the Redfish? What size fishing rod do you use? I use to fish down in Sarasota and Siesta Key. My biggest snook was 24" and Redwall 20"
