Almost like shooting Ados back in the day, marvelous easy sport, like grouse 😀

Your water craft is excellent Den, to do that well on a venue you haven’t fished before must have made you happy, potentially a fantastic match stretch. Those fish at that size are power to weight as hard fighting as anything... who says carp don’t fight. Great video and session 👍

Thanks Doug. I was just watching Frank's latest video when this came in. I love the banter you two have on the bank mate.
@dougpetty6854Ай бұрын
It’s not banter Den its real ha ha ha... we have a very similar sense of humour and laugh at each other a lot, I’m lucky we hit it off after a chance meeting along the bank 😊 ATB Doug 👍

I really admire this style of fishing. It's very different from here in the US. It looks way more organized and methodical yet looks really relaxing.

Thank you. It is nice to sit quietly, surrounded by nature and catch a few fish.

Nice video and great fishing. Wheat! I remember fishing wheat on the stick float on the upper River Trent. It always produced the bigger Roach.
@FishingwithDenАй бұрын
Thanks David. I remember that too mate. In fact, I think I'll do a video on Stick Float fishing sometime soon.

Great vid once more. We went to a venue that 2 of us had never fished before and we were told that meat is a good bait. I was using a small cube and getting Carp of around 5 to 8 ib and no little fish at all. My mate was in the next peg and was only catching small roach and bream but the bait was huge compared to mine. I suggested he try with smaller which had been at the start and went bigger to try and put them off but they would not have it all.
@FishingwithDenАй бұрын
That's fishing for you Phill.😁😁👍👍
@Offcut55Ай бұрын
@@FishingwithDen Sure is, it must be my mate as we fished Thrapston resy and was next to each other same setup in every way. I caught Roach he caught Bream, so we swapped over I still caught roach and him bream?

Are there any other species to catch where you live Den? I read that carp are a huge invasive problem in Australia and USA. So much so I saw a video where they are netting them and turning them into compost on an industrial scale!
@FishingwithDenАй бұрын
Not as far as European species go mate. There are some Bass and Mullet, plus, if you like Eels, there are loads of them. Further south (approx 700 miles) there are Roach and Tench, which I hope to be catching in the new year. As for invasive carp, the Australians have been trying to get rid of them for years, but it's a losing proposition. The compost company you are talking about does harvest Carp, but again, it makes absolutely no difference. Where I live in New South Wales, you are allowed to return Carp alive, so I'm in a UK anglers paradise.

@@FishingwithDen Winter coming less time on the bank but more time watching youtube fishing vlogs for tips Den 🙂 If you have matches on this new venue it will be extra keepnets or two hourly weigh ins
